2024 Natty discussion: tOSU vs ND

Gutting?

lol
I get it. You finally make it here after a decade and it doesn’t mean anything. That must suck. And to top it off, it’s cementing the position of the coach you have who can’t beat us.

Exactly why the "best" argument is completely fucking retarded.

There’s a valid argument that it entirely has to do with the seeding they chose. I’d you have better teams facing off earlier while Boise sits, of course this is the outcome.

My PawPaw would be so mad at me and my dad is gonna be mad at me…but I actually think I will be rooting for ND.

Don’t see them winning tho. I think Ohio St wins rather easily

Lmao
(1) “Our year was great”

(2) Apart from your Championship year your team has been mediocre as hell for more than 2 decades.

(3) So yeah when you are used to that then 7-5 is a good year, congrats.

(4) And I didn’t even mention the cheating scandal.
LMAO
All four statements are true.

(4) In person scouting is extremely minor. Having an I-Phone at a game is less than minor. Decoding simplistic signals, that's on the team producing simplistic signals. We did not have any of that happening when we beat you last season and this season. You are a better team, that was basically out-coached. We are living rent free in Ryan Day's brain. Come on up on November 29th, and Celebrate Ryan Day's Day!!! We are about to give him the key to Ann Arbor's Chasity Belt, not that he would know what to do with it.

Imagine comparing those two things lmfao.
I just like to think of it as how rapidly things can change during the course of a season. A month go OSU was the laughing stock of CFB. In Sept "loyal" ND fans wanted Freeman's head

Only in the eyes of michigan fans, because going forward it's all they'll have. OSU will continue to be elite, and if we win the title nobody outside of ann arbor will give a shit about a game that OSU beat themselves in that ended up meaning nothing.
We (Michigan) will recognize ohio state as champions, because that is the way it's suppose to be. If you had to take the Championship from Michigan, ohio state couldn't do it. You are welcome.

Shutup stupid!

No one cares about that upset win but you Michigan clowns.
You are correct ... let's give Notre Dame and ohio state their due, but as long as ohio state continues to trash us, I will not sit idle and take it!!!

The new playoff pretty much makes the regular season irrelevant to some degree. like I said earlier I don’t think Ohio state fans who wanted day fired realize this pretty much cements his job for years.

I don’t think it’s a forgone conclusion that OSU wins

ND has a very good team too, and Freeman is a better coach than Day

Correct on both accounts.

ND's defense is solid. I'd imagine they will try to play a similar scheme to what Texas pulled off. Make Ohio State use someone besides Smith. They gotta play basically perfectly though. Buckeyes have guys that can house it all over the field. Puts tons of stress on the defense, but if they can keep things in front of them and make Ohio State march it down the field, penalties or negative plays will eventually happen and stop drives.

On offense, I don't think ND has anything that scares me. It'll be hard for them to break 20 points unless Ohio State has some bad busted coverage mistakes. Buckeyes also have a great run defense, which could negate ND's primary weapon. Ohio State will probably use a similar scheme to what they did vs Tenn and Oregon. Use a spy on the QB to clean up things if he escapes the pocket.

Low scoring game. Give me Bucks 28-17

All this Michigan OSU game this year accomplished was making a 5 loss season a little easier to swallow for Michigan fans.
All seasons are successful if we beat Ohio state. Seasons are even more successful if we beat all our other rivals. Even more successful if we win the big ten. And even more successful if we win a title. But everything below the Ohio state win is just gravy.

yeah, and that is a shame. big part of college football's allure is the ability to ruin your rival's season.

Their blitz packages need to get through. That’s how they win. Pressure right up the middle. He,like most qbs, lose their composure when the pressure is right infront of them. If they don’t, it will be a long night

Need to bracket Smith. But that will leave Egbuka in favorable coverage most of the night.

2 deep safeties, keep everything in front of you. Make Ohio State beat you on the ground and with short/intermediate passing.

Blitzing is risky because if it doesn't get home, it could easily result in 6. Might be better to run stunts or some zone blitz schemes with DEs dropping into short coverage.

NCAA Head Coach of the Year ... if you don't like this guy ... you're the problem.

When I think about this game I think about the recruiting misses that would have equalized this game a bit. Caleb Downs and Carnell Tate were two guys we were targeting hard. And Tate would have been far and away our WR1. He’s just the third best option on this Ohio State team.

ND is going to have to play a near perfect game and probably even a bit of luck to win. Too many injuries to key players.

You realize we are going to bookmark all of this and not allow you any fun when you lose the next 6 in a row no matter what happens after right?

You are setting yourself up OD style.

ND absolutely has to slow this game down by making Ohio State move the ball down the field with 10+ play series. I think they have the defense to maybe accomplish this but they are going to have to play really well.

On offense, as long as your defense is doing its job, stick with the run, try to wear Ohio States defense down enough that you can score late.

Ohio State has to find a way to get Smith involved if they employ the same defensive technique Notre Dame did. I think sometimes Day and Kelly thinks, ok they are going to focus on Smith so we will just concentrate on Egbuka and Tate getting the ball. No, figure out ways to get him involved bc he is simply too big of a playmaker to only have one catch. Will Howard has to take care of the ball and they have to try to limit those big penalties that put them 20+ yards behind the sticks. Happened too many times last night

On defense, shut the run down and use your line rotation to keep those guys fresh cause ND won't give up on the run easily. Don't want them going into the 4th gassed bc ND has 30+ run attempts already. Hopefully they can continue getting pressure with mostly the front four. This has been huge all playoff run. JTs ankle is probably killing him today, need him to be close to 100% Sawyer, Williams, Hamilton, Jackson, Houston, etc all need to keep playing well bc this allows Simon, Downs, and Ransom to play downhill and make plays.

I think this does turn into a tight game. Hopefully the Bucks can pull it out.
