2024 Olympics

Wait a minute, are Mel Brooks and Baby Yoda participating in these Olympics? Holy fuck I gotta see that race!

Nah, I think @Wishbone just posted all of these in the wrong thread

I moved them but it's too late for me to delete them out of this thread. Mods will have to do it. I'm going back to bed!

Holy shit that's what happens when you wake up at 5am lol.

It's like when some chick with huge jugs pulls them out in church. It's definitely not the right place for that but I will still enjoy it if I happen to be there

USA's Kristen Faulkner from Alaska wins gold in the women's cycling race with a sudden and dramatic move taking the lead over Marianne Vos of Netherlands and Lotte Kopeky of Belgium just before the three riders crossed the Seine River with about a mile to go. Marianne Vos won the silver and and Lotte Kopeky took the bronze. Very exciting race.

How about the 100m. The results were amazingly close with USA Lyles taking the gold, USA Kerley, bronze, and the Jamaican Thompson the silver. All runners were under 9.92 sec.

That was awesome. There was a fourth rider with that group, Vas of Hungary. The three other riders just sat there stunned as Faulkner rode away. None of them were willing to give chase because they were all waiting for one of the others to ride point. A case of over-strategizing.

And Faulkner wasn't even supposed to be in that race, she is mainly there for indoor track, she only took up cycling 7 years ago. Very impressive.

I've seen that finish a dozen times, and I still can't believe Thompson didn't win it.

Very exciting pole vault competition. DuPlantis (SWE) from LSU (mother from Sweden) made 20 feet, 6 inches look easy. I remember decades ago when the 17-foot barrier was broken in the 60s. 18 feet in 1970, 19 feet in 1981, then 20 feet in 1991. 22 feet in 2030?

Ya fuck that guy, he was born in the US has trained in the US and Vaults for Sweden. Same with all the swimmers and others that train in the USA and then compete for their country, get the fuck out of here.

volleyball is on now, usa vs. poland. i see each side has a tiny person wearing a white shirt, is that like a make a wish thing? did they pick them out from the crowd before the match?

bmf cliff notes: Can't hit the ball above the net and generally has to play at the back of the court. Different color jersey helps the refs know which player has these limitations.

Have you seen the Swedish Bikini Team, though?

USA Libero is one of the biggest reasons why the USA is even in the semifinals

This thing still going on? NBC just had that political statistician (or whatever) guy on to talk about the chances of the US and China leading the way in golds. US is up 27-25. He pointed out the good opportunities left for each. Men's 200, both basketball, and.... somebody else for the US. Four total. He then mentioned that China had five good chances at diving golds. Then he went on to say it is unlikely China could catch them because the US had so many more chances. We were scratching our heads and then the other guy in the studio call him a genius for figuring this out.

How about the men's 3000m Steeplechase where former BYU runner Ken Rooks from Washington came out of nowhere and took silver ahead of all those Ethiopeans and Kenyans.

Hey, white men can run!
