Nebraska Cornhuskers 2024 Recruiting Thread (Commit list in OP)

Nebraska is trying to go 7 for the top 7 in the state of Nebraska - Nelson is the biggest question mark at this point. Sounds like Hall, McMorris (who I would personally rate higher than Hall), Benning and Pyform are all Nebraska leans right now. If Nebraska could somehow talk Nelson off the Georgia commitment they could do what no one thought they would be able to do just a month ago and get the top 7 guys in the state to come to Nebraska.

Of the Top 10 (I differ with 247 here, as I think Donovan Jones is a better prospect than Ingwerson or Burt) that would mean Nebraska only missed on one (Teddy Rezac) that they genuinely wanted.

Hey @footballnut
Was Michael Burt out of Creighton Prep offered for the 24 class?

He just committed to Iowa according to the fuck Iowa team board.

We have a BIIIIG visit weekend coming up - Who's on campus? Glad you asked:

Grant Brix (4-Star, OT) [Logan, IA]
Carter Nelson (4-Star, TE) [Ainsworth, NE]
Preston, Taumua (4-STar, OL) [Alea, HI]
Roger Gradney (4-Star, ATH) [Garwood, TX]
Dae'vonn Hall (4-Star, WR) [Bellevue, NE]
Ernest Campbell (4-Star, WR) [Refuglo, TX]
Devoux Tuataga (3-Star, EDGE) [Eagle Mountain, UT]
Coen Echols (3-Star, OL) [Katy, TX]
Isaiah McMorris (3-Star, WR) [Bellevue, NE]
Daniel Kaelin (3-Star, QB) [Bellevue, NE]
Ian Flint (3-Star, TE) [Katy, TX]

Kewan Lacy (3-Star, RB) [Lancaster, TX]
Ashton Murphy (3-Star, OT) [Omaha, NE]
Gibson Pyle (3-Star, OL) [Houston, TX]

Keelan Smith (3-Star, TE) [Liberty, MO]
Quinn Clark (NYR, WR) [Bozeman, MT]
Rex Guthrie (NYR, S) [Littleton, CO]

Worth noting that not all of these guys are a take even if they are visiting currently. That said - feels like a HUGE visit for Carter Nelson (who was at the CWS with QB Commit Daniel Kaelin yesterday) considering he is supposedly a strong lean to Georgia at the moment.

I expect, at this point that Hall (tomorrow morning) and McMorris (maybe tomorrow morning as well) will end up committing to Nebraska at some point soon... maybe during the weekend. Grant Brix received a CB to Kansas State after his visit last week there... he is clearly a top target for Nebraska and getting him to visit and knocking it out of the park is very important. I also expect Caleb Benning to commit at some point, though that might not happen until after the HS football season.

both hall and mcmorris will be on insta at 10:30 tomorrow.

Any minute now we should be hearing the commitment from Isaiah McMorris and Dae'Vonn Hall - FYI--- THEY ARE IN LINCOLN RIGHT NOW... soooo... would be super weird if they didn't commit to Nebraska

They just committed to Nebraska... in an instagram live... while at Nebraska on their OV. Big gets for Nebraska considering where Nebraska thought they were with both about two months ago. If you were to ask me two months ago if we would land either of them I would have said no.... Garrett McQuire and Rhule doing great work in Bellevue. Huge gets.

Kaelin was a huge fucking get...

Here's what I know... Dylan committing would have been huge for the hype train, but Kaelin committing is huge for the in state momentum. So take what you will... but which has more staying power? I guess we'll see, but Nebraska is about to do something no one thought they would be able to do 3 months ago... They are going to get the top 7 in the state (because I think Benning and Pyform are N if Carter Nelson is N) and 8 of the Top 10 if you put Donovan Jones in over Ingwerson, which I would....

I suspect Nelson will commit on Sunday....

Caleb Benning has said he will wait till the end of his senior season BUT he is visiting next weekend so I would keep my head on a swivel because the class is filling up super fast and he might want to jump at the spot while it's there. Pyform is at Illinois this weekend but I think that pales in comparison to what Nebraska offers. I could see both committing before August.

Rumors of diedrick passing away. Is that true?

Now it is time to awkwardly transition into some visit updates... Here's the thing - Nebraska knocked it out of the park this weekend and it started with McMorris and Hall but it won't end there.... here's who Nebraska gets, in my opinion, in the coming week:

1. Carter Nelson - DK, him and Hall and McMorris hit it off again and he wants to stay home. Yes, Georgia and Notre Dame were real players, but Nebraska got it done. Impressive.

2. Quinn Clark - Husker legacy, son of Ken Clark - Nebraska is his best and only real option, good athlete though.

3. Rex Guthrie - WR out of Montana, big bodied, Nebraska got in on him early. He's N

4. Ernest Campbell - WR out of Texas, one of the fastest players in the country... ran a 10.22 100 at state this year.

5. Kewan Lacy - RB out of Texas was considered an Ole Miss lean but the visit changed things, I think he is N

The big question mark is Grant Brix - not sold on his interest level compared to KSU right now... Nebraska got the last visit but Alabama is definitely a player. Gonna be an interesting one to watch. I do not think he committed on the visit or that he is particularly close to a commitment.
