The Jarret thing is the only news here. All the other incidents were known and reported at the time. As I mentioned several of the players were kicked off the team immediately.
Look, I don't want rapists or sexual abusers on my team. And these are embarrassing, of course. But the reason Jarrett was not kicked off was that there were never any charges made. It sounds bad, but why didn't they pursue charges if true?
I am not paying for the article, so I haven't read the whole thing. I'd like to think our school would do the right thing. They have with regard to Anderson, Holloman, and others.
As for the players going to court, that was reported on at the time. There was nothing Smart could do. That was the players' decision to go to court and speak on his behalf to get bail. Whether that was good or bad, that wasn't a HC issue. The Anderson trial has not been held yet. If he is guilty, throw him under the jail. If he is not, throw the accuser under the jail.
More on Anderson - the judge actually cleared him to attend UGA's Pro Day, but he was not allowed to do so. His lawyer had him do a private workout the day before.
