@Thiefery do you know much about this kid? A bunch of people have been putting in predictions to Ohio State recently

Payton Pierce, Ohio State Buckeyes, Linebacker

2021: Texas District 7-5A-II Defensive Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore. 2020: Played on varsity his freshman season at Allen (Texas) HS.

They don't just cover slot WRs, they end up covering the other teams really fast #1 WR! somehow.

Yea I wish it was just a joke lol.

Fortunately theres no way this kid can possibly be as slow as Tuf, at least i'd hope. Tuf was about as slow as of starting high level G5 LBer you will ever see. Even then please stop having these guys trying to cover fast WRs

i know from the recruitnik boards i frequent.. everyone pretty much has Justin Williams as the top LB in the state..he looks like an Oregon lock.. there is another one but I think he's already committed to LSU IIRC..

UT is looking at a LB (CA) who recently decommitted from SC.. I'm sure Piece will pop up as the summer gets here with more camps..keep an eye on him during the season too

Looks like he's announcing tonight. Seems like it would be a shock if it were anywhere but Ohio State at this point.

Any combination of Scott/West/Lockhart are likely, possibly all 3. Lester is also going to be there, which would be insane if they can get him on board (but highly unlikely). The visitor list has some major names though, that's for sure.

Lockhart said he is announcing on July 6th the other day. He seems like a lock at this point though.

I think one of West/Scott will pull the trigger this weekend.

Lester seems extremely unlikely. Not zero shot but i'd be shocked if we got him.

Zabien Brown is probably the 4th CB we take. We have a real good shot at him. He's a CA kid bet he's got a lot of family in Ohio which helps our cause.

On surly it was mentioned how far apart the sevices are for his ranking
Rivals now is 77 (was 25) nationally
247 has him 151 nationally
On3 doesn't even have him ranked
ESPN has him 128

He's a 4 star because of ESPN and Rivals.. not harping on it, but I am intrigued to see if he participates in the camps starting next month and into the summer

He's a 4* in both the 247 rankings and 3* On3...so he's a 4* because 3 of the 4 major recruiting networks have him as a 4* and the composite rankings also reflect him being a 4*.

yeah i didn't realize that 4 stars were all the way up to 247.. thought there was a cutoff before then (150)

In the 247 composite 4 stars go all the way to #421

All 4 stars definitely are not created equal.

damn man didn't know it was that wide..
But I have honestly only been looking at top 100 players for a couple cycles.. Seeing my Horns rank high but when you look at the numbers.. it was telling to see A) the amount of players taken B) the lack of top 100 kids taken
