Listen to little brother coming into the SEC mouthing off, writing checks they won't be able to cash. Can't wait for the beatdowns.

UT ruining all those other conferences, coming into the SEC with swagger only to get their dicks kicked into the dirt.

All that said, if you come in and win like Mizzou did for a few years, I'll jump off that tower in Austin.

Bill Bedenbaugh is on the board for the 2024 Recruiting Class as he led the charge and helped Oklahoma land its first offensive line commitment for the class of the cycle. Three-star offensive tackle Isaiah Autry chose Oklahoma over Ole Miss, Alabama, Florida State, and Auburn.

He is still crystalled balled to OU. But so is Jeremy Payne, Stacey Gage, and Tovani Mizell. Can't take them all.

Drumm is a tool but Parker Thune knows his stuff.

Meh ... it's the average you look at this time of year.

1. Bama
2. UF (I know, WTF?)
3. UGA
4. tOSU
5. USCjr
6. UM
7. ND
8. Ore

Even then, it's way early.
Averages are a decent metric, except they don't weigh players at all. So the last 4 star recruit is treated the same as the first 4 star recruit in the top 100 after the 5 stars stop. And there's even more of a difference between the first 3 star out and the last 3 star before the two stars/no ranking players start. Averages can also really be deceiving by class size. USC only has two recruits, so they have a decent average. But only having two recruits right now isn't great.

Everything you said except the last sentence is wrong.

Ohio State has a four star that has a .9641 ranking (just below a five star) and another that is a .8981 ranking (just above a 3 star). The average absolute takes that into account

They don't just add up the number of stars and divide by number of recruits

You are very much correct. Without looking closely enough I just assumed it was average star ranking, which is (at least I think?) at thing they used to list. But it is, as you said, the average of the number the associate with that particular recruit.

This is the problem that a Florida poster had here last year ... he was bragging about them having the top star average. I told him that didn't mean anything and he trolled on and on that it did. He should be in here now, because they actually have a good average when looking at the rating, not the stars.

Quantity does matter, as you point out, because the more players you get your average is likely to drop unless you are adding Top 50 guys. Even then the top recruiting teams will add some project 3*, and some ST players that bring the average down. Also, it's April/May ... there will be about 10 more re-rankings, and that will make a difference. The top recruiting team bumps will take place. Finally, with NIL I would expect some committed to de-commit. I bet we lose at least 3 of the players currently committed to us. It's just the way of the world these days.

Hey, better to be on this list right now than not be on this list right now.
