2024 Recruiting Thread

Given the schedule this year, I think it will be hard for OU to win less than 8. That said OU needs a rebuild on the DL. Portal guys aren’t going to win you a lot of games in the SEC. Both Texas and OU need to recruit well and recruit the right type of bodies on the DL. (Texas is a bit out in front on OU, but this is a pivotal class).
I hear you. If OU can land 5 stars Williams Nwernri and David Stone this class to go along with 5 star PJ Adabari from last year we should be in good shape.

Apologies LSU fans... we all know how this is gonna end :)

Not sure why they are trolling LSU so hard though

Who do you think is going to get Dominick McKinley? You, US, or Lsu
i'm CONFIDENT that LSU is out.. they think they have momentum because of their pool party at the end of July that he attended. Mom is all in on academics.. Wiltfong likes where UT is at with him right now.. Gerry Hamilton on his youtube show said not to get too confident because his sources say ou is right there for him too.

I honestly wanted Lindsey who just committed to Auburn more than I did McKinley but we still need him badly. We only took 1 IDL last cycle.

I'm sure it will be a roller coaster the next two weeks heading into his Sept 1st announcement

Texas Mods are mildly confident. Sounds like distance is the biggest factor they like Texas over OU. They believe being able to drive to Austin gives Texas the edge. That probably tells you how tight it is

Nwerni is a freak. He is going to be good. Not sure where he plays on the DL (edge or a future 3 tech), but he may take a couple years. He is only listed at 250, so lot will depend on how fast his body develops. Texas has a kid like that Bledsoe. Freak of athlete, but he has been a tweener through 2 years. I think finally up to 270-275 area. The 5 star last year is an edge, correct? I was talking about IDL guys. Those big asses that allow the athletes around them to cause havoc

I think Mizzou wins out. Primary due to NIL where in Missouri, he can get it as a high schooler. Now, how that works with the NCAA regs I can't tell you, but that seems to be the reason.

FWIW, the OU board insiders are saying it's a Mizzou/OU battle.

The UGA mods are all saying Mizzou v. UGA, with Mizzou in the lead.

Missouri guys are saying all three but with OU and Mizzou with momentum going into Monday.

As I see it: UGA - come be developed, get some NIL once you get here, play for championships, and then go first round, something we've done a lot of at that position the last 3 years. OU - the best coaching relationship, and D-oriented HC who also has put a lot of DL into the NFL. Mizzou - NIL and close to home.

If we can't win out, I want it to be Mizzou. He disappears at Mizzou, from my perspective. At OU he could be more of a problem down the line. Also, more likely to get some NIL for a year or two and the hit the portal. Would like our chances there.

I always said I wanted 1 of Breland, McCray, or Nwerni. I think we get at least one of the three.

FWIW, On3 just got a prediction of Wingo to Mizzou. They are digging in deep into their pockets. We can't get him, let him go there ... better than UT.

I'm hearing Nwerni commits to Missouri today, get the NIL money, but signs with OU.

I don't like mizzu, but it's not like they don't have a good showing in the draft.. they have good players.. kudos to them for keeping it's best players in state.. Fong had an update regarding Wingo and said he still feels good where his CB currently sits at (UT).. best part is that it won't bother me if he does sign with Mizzu.. Sark will just poach another WR from the portal for experience with the young WR core he has right now..

WR/DB have to be the best position for quality players in the portal

Williams Nwarni to Missouri

Too soon?

Nwarni ...

OU writers have been pumping some serious sunshine on WN ... they never even looked UGA's way even though our guys said we were in it big time to the end. But, if you ain't first, you're last ... maybe this will help when he decides to transfer next year.

“It was Oklahoma on top for the longest,” he told On3. “They were on top of my list for a while. Then in June, I really thought hard about committing to Georgia, and I almost did. Tennessee was in there for a little while too. Missouri just stayed consistent, and over time, they moved up the list and I ended up committing to them over Georgia.”

Reaction to one player ... jfc, how embarrassing:
