2025 Recruiting Thread

that would be wild... Indiana?
Auburn has dipped, leaving USC, Indiana, or Colo. The QB room at USC is kind of full. If he can get the money, Indiana might get him on the field in year 1, year 2 for sure.

He's a head case and he and his father overplayed their hand.

i think SC already has Huston Longstreet in their hand.. just waiting for Juju to flip or decommit

Lot of rumors that ND commit Deuce Knight is flipping to Auburn. Could be why Auburn has dipped out.

I think that is part of it. If you hold on to him, Auburn is going to be in trouble. Music to my ears. Then again, with the portal, not sure how important that is.

They have a pretty highly rated recruit for the 2024 cycle, so they could be okay. Freeze typically does good with QB's, last year not withstanding.

He would 100% play right away at Indiana. Their QB battle this year is between a meh MAC transfer and Tayven Jackson who was horrible last year when he played (2 TD/5 INT)

Lame. Adults who are unable to say "I changed my mind and am going where I want" but instead say the lord is guiding them have got to be the kids whose parents tell a youth sports coach their kid is going to another team because "it's what the kid wants". :L

The Hoosiers also have 2024 Freshman 4 star QB Tyler Cherry coming in now. Combine Cherry with the possibility of getting Juju Lewis in the 2025 class, and suddenly the Hoosiers QB room looks good.

First year Hoosiers head coach Curt Cignetti certainly did a heck of a job at James Madison... we shall see if Cignetti can also be successful in the B1G with Indiana.

I think there are going to be some bumps this year just because of the talent level. I'd say 8-4 would be best case scenario. Long-term, however, they are in excellent shape. The Cignetti hire was a home run, I think the bigger issue will be keeping him.

We got a lot of Cali kids, we aer recruiting well out there.
i get that but you know how it is once it gets closer to signing day..

But again, he might just stick it out regardless.. I know he's going to be making good money and they can pitch him on what Elko helped make Riley Leonard into..

Big get for the Hawkeyes.

5 star Edge/DL Iose Epenesa out of Illinois has committed to Iowa.

That family loves them some Iowa. They are the Hawkeye version of the Bosas.

I've posted this before and @Thiefery kind of blew it off, but let's take a look at current rankings. I know things will change, but one of the differences being in the SEC instead of the B12 is that you could have a top 10 recruiting year and still be 7th or 8th in the conference you play in now. If that happens many years in a row, it adds up and you start losing games you wouldn't have lost in the B12.

Current rankings (national/SEC):

2 / 1 Bama
3 / 2 LSU
4 / 3 UGA
5 / 4 Auburn
6 / 5 UTjr
7/ 6 ATM
11 / 7 OU
13 / 8 TX

Current rankings (national/B12):

11 / 7 OU
13 / 8 TX

21 / 3 TCU
27 / 4 UCF
33 / 5 Baylor
39 /6 WVu

Obviously, TX and OU are in the SEC, but as in the past they were always 1 and 2 in the B12. So they were always playing rosters with less talent than them. Look at the SEC ... 6 teams ahead of them. It's not just having to play Bama and UGA ... if this keeps up, they will play 4-5 games per year where they don't have the best roster. You are going to lose several of those.

Again, its a long time until ESD/NSD, and I would expect TX to move up into the top 10. But my point, one I saw year in and year out when Richt was our coach, is that you better get up into the top 3 as often as you can if you want to have a talent edge in the SEC.

ehh you gotta fc

Ehh you also gotta factor in the portal too.. We'll see how it plays out.. Phillips does suck though, but i can't get mad..he's betting on himself at CB.

Ffrench, Brooks, possibly Jonah could all be Horns by the time September gets here. should be enough to be inside the top 10.. The staff will have to do some real work in getting one of their DTs to flip from where they are committed right now. I have faith in this staff to put it together

Yeah, we'll see about the portal. Used to fill voids seems to work. Building a team, not so much. But sure, it has to be considered.

We, too, are expecting a couple more 5*. I would guess we finish 3rd, 2nd in the SEC. LSU and Oregon are the two wildcards for us. I think we pull ahead of LSU, and Oregon has the best average right now but only 15 commits. They have a geography problem.
