2025 Recruiting Thread

Oof, DL is taking a beating, I still agree with not giving mid level recruits a huge bag to keep them from jumping to lesser schools offering one (Merritt is likely going to Colorado) but it is incredibly frustrating.

We are gonna have to hit the portal hard at DL. We aren't getting Stewart either, USC & Oregon reportedly are in a NIL bidding war that we refuse to match.

I don't think recruits like this are getting huge bag from anyone. I think it is the guys at the top/top of the recruiting lists. If you see a top 50 kid jump from team to team -- it is likely they were offered more elsewhere.

I could be wrong, but I am thinking only the 5 star guys, some of those guys just below the 5 star threshold will be getting a bag of money to sign. Though I could see some kids getting money if they play a position of importance, like QB or LT or something like that?

He's definitely getting a bag from Colorado. They are spending money, but have a lack of talent overall, so guys like him make sense. The second he even showed the tiniest bit of interest in Colorado, they were all over him. Same thing is happening with Zahir Mathis. These high end 4* guys are still definitely getting NIL deals.

I must be missing something. Colorado has the 65th ranked class for 2025. So they aren't spending money wisely if they are spending money.

Personally, I think only the top end guys are getting money deals when recruited, while others are simply getting the standard deals all the other guys on the team get. I guess I view high end 4* slightly different than you do. I see high end 4* guys as the one who just missed out on being a 5*. The guys with a 95 overall ranking -- i think that stops around the top 65-70.

You are wrong. Mid level guys are getting bags too, not as big as the top guys of course and schools like Colorado & FSU are willing to give more to those mid level guys to get them away from the top schools

Colorado is 65th in recruiting. So what bag are they giving these guys?

I'm becoming a Colorado fan -- they keep swiping guys from Ohio State. London Merritt flipped to Colorado from Ohio.

Just heard the University with the most NFL players produced within a 500 mile radius is Alabama and Auburn is #2

*FLIP*

4 star ATH/S Jordan Young out of North Carolina has flipped from Clemson to Michigan.

Looks like we are going to keep Jarquez Carter from flipping

There was concerns of 4* LB TJ Alford flipping for a bag as well which apparently is not looking likely now.

also we are looking good to flip 4* DL Epi Sitanilei from UCLA

If Merritt taking the bag from Colorado is the only last second bag grab we lose and we add Sitanilei and Rocket Rodgers ill take it as a W.

Some of these schools never were on an eBay auction. You wait until the very end to make your final pitch on some of these guys.

I know Florida & FSU were both going hard at Carter & Alford, there's still time of course but it's looking a lot better for us than it was a couple weeks ago to retain them.

I thought Miami was the one hot after Alford?

I guess recruits don't care much about us laying out a embarrassment against Michigan.

We just got a commitment from the #2 QB in the 2027 class
