All tackles lead with the head

Do all tackles lead with the crown of the helmet?

Asking for a friend.

Apparently, if you keep your head up, you can still get called for crown.
Heck, in the first place keeping your head up at the runners head level is the dangerous thing to do… but yet this rule and it’s prosecution calls for it.

It is all around and in every aspect the dumbest fucking thing on earth.

Form tackle: crown exposed.
Keep head up: going in at head level … and you can still get called for crown.

Go low for form tackle, making sure you try to hit with shoulder: runner ducks and you still get ejected.

EVERY TACKLE LEADS WITH THE HEAD.

THIS RULE IS MORE THAN A JOKE

You know what doesn’t lead with the head? Throwing snowballs. That will cost you 15 yards too.

Ravens rusher keeps head up. Doesn’t hit with crown as newly defined. Still gets penalty.
So keep head up or nah? Cuz either gets you penalized

Maybe next time he should try wearing a #15 Chiefs jersey.

LSU V SC

Last seconds in game.

Kept head up like y’all call for. Turned shoulder.
Call?
Targeting.

lol. You’re a joke for supporting this rule.

That was textbook targeting my dude. Wasn’t even close.
Why? Because he kept his head up?
But that’s exactly what y’all say to do. That’s what the commentators and rules experts say.
So he should have lowered the head? Oh but wait. That’s what exposes the crown and you can get targeting for that.
Oh oh whoops.
Dilemma we have a dumbass rule and dumbasses who support it

That’s you.

I don't mind the targeting rule, but I think there maybe needs to be a change to some of the verbiage and how it's applied.

Based on how the rule is written, that hit last night was textbook targeting (crown of the helmet with helmet to helmet contact).

However, I was even complaining about that call because I'm not sure what the DB was supposed to do in that instance short of just not make the tackle. His job in that situation is to make the tackle and, if possible, knock the ball loose with the hit.

I agree with it in situations where a guy "launches himself" or is looking to "blow the other player up" trying to make SportsCenter, but I didn't feel like that was the case on that hit. The kicking a guy out of the game for it is stupid, imo. Especially since it's going to cost that kid the 1st half of the next game.

It also hurt LSU because the kid that replaced him made a bad read on the next play that looked like it took him out of position to possibly prevent that touchdown. The starter is less likely to make that mistake.

Maybe the only difference would have been USC winning 23-20, but USC's kicker had missed a chip shot going into halftime, so who knows?

Translation. “Eltexan has been saying this all along, and it only took me twenty pages to admit it.”

The fuck are you talking about?

Admit what?

That was my first post in this thread.

This thread is still as stupid as it ever was
Why is it every time we see this thread we can hear The Dancing Queen playing?

Here we go again
