Do you follow recruiting at all? You've either stated things that have been written about for months, or things that are totally inaccurate.I NEVER said Tennessee was in the running. In fact, I said we were NOT in the running. Grabbing Nico was a pretty clear sign that Tennessee wasn't in the running for Arch Manning.
LSU is in the running despite what media is stating. Now, they maybe further down the list but they are in the mix.
I think Georgia wins it because of offensive-line play and overall program stability. The only negative about Georgia is that Arch Manning may want to go to a school where he could have a greater impact. If he goes to UGA and gets beat out by another QB, that would be a problem.
Edit: Texas is probably #2 due to the offense they run. However, I would think LSU would be in the mix as well because LSU has a history of running pro-style offenses at times as well. LSU is probably distant third due to instability lately and I am not sure how good their offensive line play is overall.
I don't think Alabama is in the mix because Saban has been using dual threat QBs and, frankly, has plenty of options for QB. Some of the best QBs in the sport have come through Alabama recently so they do not necessarily need a Manning.
I could be totally wrong about my order.
Not sure if the SEC tag really has weight or not. They are going to pick a school were Arch can prosper the most and be put in the best position to be drafted and ready for the NFL.
I agree you said UTjr wasn't in the running, but you did type: "I think all Tennessee fans are in alignment that Tennessee is NOT an option for Arch, especially with Nico pickup." That's like me saying "all Dawggy's friends are in alignment that Dawggy is NOT an option for Kate Upton." I mean, duh. UTjr has never even been mentioned in his recruiting. Perhaps at the very beginning, years ago, because of Peyton. So of course you are in alignment that UTjr isn't an option - he never seriously considered you. SMH.
- LSU is not in the running, he isn't OVing there.
- UT isn't "probably no. 2" they are most definitely no. 1 or no. 2 ... it's a 2 horse race.
- Bama isn't a dual threat QB school - Tua could run, but he wasn't a true dual threat. He ran for 17 yards his senior season. I could outrun Mac Jones who gained 14 yards in his senior season. Bryce had exactly zero yards rushing last season. He isn't going to Bama because they moved on with Holstein.
- The QB rooms at Bama, UGA and UT are all stacked. Bama and UGA need Manning less than UT, but UGA and UT also have plenty of options for QB. In fact, once you get past our two starters, UGA's QB room is probably slightly stronger than Bama's. UT may well have the best QB of the three teams, and one who might be better than Manning.
- He could get beat out by another QB at any of the 3 finalists. None of those coaches are promising him that he will start, and his parents and management team wouldn't believe it if they were told that.
I do agree that stability and OL play are to the advantage of UGA.
