And the defending champs go down to the previous defending champs. Neither team looked that great to me last night.

The top 6 of the BIG12 are kinda the perfect example of this season of college basketball.

Lot of really good teams. But almost everyone seems to have a really clear fatal flaw. And that really relates to those Big12 teams.

Fun games though. ISU and Kstate should be as well tonight

Exactly. And those six haven't exactly dominated the other four.

I think I heard one of the "talking heads" say he thought the Big 12 was one "great big middle". Ranging from upper middle to lower middle. Not any elites and not any dregs.

Sure looks like the committee is going to have to really split hairs this year when it comes to seeding. Less difference between1-4 and about 21-24 than any years I remember.

Yup forsure.

If you look at computer advanced metrics. Kstate is more of a fringe top 25 team and are currently 5th.

Kansas is great but has minimal depth and no bigs at all.

Can ISU score enough?

Can Baylor defend? Also rely alot on 3 guards.

TCU cant shoot a lick. if they play a team who can handle transition?

Texas has the least glaring flaw. But with no Beard their D isnt quite as good(still great) and they have no shooting outside Carr.

Fun league, fun season.

I enjoyed the Baylor/Kansas game last night as far as entertainment goes. But both of them would drive me crazy if I was one of their big fans....especially down the stretch. Baylor played a lot "Matador Ole" defense...especially the hot shot freshman. Kansas really didn't show any sense of urgency or grit to me at those crucial points. That's really disappointing to me considering that's the last two champs.

Their only shot is because the NCAA tourney seems to be about guard play. They've both got some but they damn sure need to clean a lot of things up. I like the other four's (ISU, K-State, Texas and TCU) chances long term.

Nowell and Johnson tossing up god awful shots in this game to shoot Kstate out of any comeback.

Big 12/SEC Challenge was nuts yesterday. The four current Big 12 "cellar dwellers" all won while two of the leaders get taken to the woodshed.

TCU may be done if those injuries are long term.

0-8 Texas Tech comes back from 23 down in the 2nd half to beat league leader Iowa State in overtime. Go figure.

Woof ISU.

TJO with not his finest coaching performance there.

The bottom of the conference is very good.

Jay Bilas referred to the Big 12 as "a conference without a bottom" when he was calling the Kansas-Kentucky game Saturday. I guess last night's game proved it when a winless team beats the conference leader. That said, I'm not sure there is a top either. Saw an article about a guy that dumped all these metrics into a program and the software predicted the conference champion in the Big 12 would be 12-6, 11-7 or even 10-8!

Long grinding conference stretch. Teams go through peaks and valleys. ISU was hot and has lost two in a row. TCU was rolling along pretty well and then the ox got in the ditch in Starkville. We'll see how bad their three starters are hurt.

BTW, not sure ISU can get out of Lubbock this morning.

That is exactly what I thought.

I also thought the Clones looked dead legged. Kalscheur's free throw attempts after he was fouled on that 3 point attempt in OT were all short. (Even though one rolled in.) That's usually a sign IMO.

Yeah ISU had like a 5 minute stretch of game play where they turned it over 8 times and shot the ball ZERO.

That freshman PG Lipsey has had a solid year but he was so clearly rattled and the guy can't shoot a lick as it is. It was mind boggling they left him out there. D doesnt have to respect the shot and had him rattled off his ass.

Both Texas men's and women's teams alone in first place in the B12.

Who saw that coming?

Interesting tidbit I saw last week. Last week’s AP rankings was the first time, since inception, that there wasn’t a women’s team from the state of Texas in the rankings. Maybe your Horns will be now.

Yeah I caught that too. A couple of key injuries caused a losing streak for Texas and took them out of the rankings.

Baylor's long streak of dominance kept that alive after Texas.

Duckboy's Big 12 Games of the Day:

West Virginia at #5 Texas - Texas enters the day with a 1 game lead in the Big 12 title race. They got Huggins and WVU coming into town.

#14 Baylor at #17 TCU - Top 20 battle in Fort Worth tonight. Quietly one of the better games of the day.

Oklahoma State at #11 Iowa State - Oklahoma State is on the bubble and looking for a huge road win to improve their resume. Iowa State looks to bounce back after losing to WVU earlier this week.

Does TCU have their injured starters back? If not, this could be an ass whoopin'!
