You think the Bears will finish in last?
I think the Vikings finish last in the division and not just because of their QB situation. They've got a mediocre OL and defense that will not be capable of protecting their QB situation. That's not an unpopular opinion.

What is an unpopular opinion is that I think the Lions do not win the division this year. In fact, I could easily see them finishing 3rd in the division if they sustain a key injury or two. The Lions defense looks to be a little better this year than last, but still not great overall. This year they have a tougher schedule and they're not sneaking up on anyone. The Packers and Bears should both be better this year than last, too.

I think the Packers have the best defense in the division and a young dynamic offense capable of making a lot of noise. The question mark is special teams.

I think the Bears have been making some good moves to expedite the rebuilding process, but it's going to take some time to get things clicking. It seems to me that this will be their "bridge year" to playoff contention; they're not quite there yet. And that's assuming Caleb Williams is more than just hype.

Bears have the best back 7 in the NFL in my opinion. Their front 4 leaves a lot to be desired and there is a lot riding on young second-year players taking a big step this year. I wish they would've picked up some help there.

I too think Detroit takes a bit of a step back this year, but they do have the best o-line in football, and that will carry them a ways. Their secondary is trash tho.

Green Bay is a good team. I'm kinda hoping the whole "sneaking up" on teams will impact them as well. Nobody is sleeping on Love anymore or the team in general.

And while I know it's only preseason, Caleb absolutely looks the part. You can FEEL the difference, compared to dumb Fields being out there.

All 3 go 10-7?

The Packers have a talented and deep group of CBs. Injuries and defensive scheme have played a significant role in underwhelming production in the passing game over the past several years, but those injuries have helped build that CB depth. The new DC supposedly deploys more press-man coverage - which better fits the CB group's strengths. If Alexander and Stokes stay healthy, it could be really tough to pass on this team.

I also believe this new DC will be deploying more of a 4-down linemen scheme. The Packers are pretty strong up front. I'm interested to see how the DE/OLBs will be moved around. I think GBs defensive front will be able to go toe to toe with DET's OL, but my biggest question mark on GB's D remains stopping the run and I'm personally hopeful the change in scheme improves that.

The thing people seem to be sleeping on most with the Packers is that they don't have a "#1 WR" and they're considering that a detriment. I actually think that has strong potential to be a positive. Oftentimes, on 3rd & 7, defenses will cheat towards an offense's WR1 - knowing that player is the O's 1st option. With GB's depth of young talented WRs and penchant to spread the ball around, opposing defenses will have no idea where the ball is going. And GB has a pretty good stable of young TEs, too.

I look forward to seeing Caleb in reps against first team defenses. He certainly has confidence in his own ability and doesn't seem to be as lost as most rookie QBs are out of the gate, but the speed & intelligence of the NFL is a big jump and the preseason is mostly college speed/intelligence.

All 3 go 10-7?

I could see that.

The Packers lost very winnable games last year to ATL, LV, DEN and NYG and still finished with 9 wins. I'm thinking they probably add 2+ more wins to that total, but a lot can happen to sway things.

The Lions only truly quality win last year was the week-1 1-pt win @KC. They split with GB and DET last year - when both teams weren't as strong as expected to be this year. They have a considerably stiffer schedule this year, so we'll see how they handle it.

The Bears will look different this year. I expect them to be more competetive, but the wins may not spike drastically along with it. It seems to me that we're going to see a season similar to the 2022 Lions.

Ultimately, I haven't been this enthused about an upcoming NFL season in a while and a big part of it is that these three teams look pretty strong and young and I expect to see some very competetive football in the division for several years to come. I think we get at least one Super Bowl champion out of this division in the next five years.

I would say, watch out for the Bears. They were a good team last year, with a fucking TERRIBLE QB. Williams will be a significant upgrade. I already fucking KNOW that.

IMO, the Bears have the top starting secondary in the NFL, with great depth on the backend. I also think they have, if not the best, very fucking close to the best WR room in the league. Something that hasn't been the case for awhile. Moore and Allen will be tough to match up against, and Odunze looks like a fucking steal in the draft. You could say they have 3 No. 1's.

I don't believe the Bears have ever drafted a great QB and Receiver in the same draft. Those two look the part.

I think the Bears' offense will make the biggest jump of any unit this year. If they can get the offense to even resemble an NFL offense, watch out NFL.

No Caleb Williams tonight......oh well, but I wanted to see if he was gonna pick up where he left off last week......
It's so weird. I can't remember the last time I wasn't nervous about our QB. Even the three straight 3 and outs to open last week. It was different. He looked fine.

I think he's gonna be fine.

I repeatedly stated leading up to the draft that I thought Odunze looked like a legit NFL receiver. I was hoping the Bears wouldn't take him for that reason. He scares me now that he's on a rival team.

Some long winded shit in here.
