Big Ten Basketball

I feel bad Nebraska had that long covid pause, but my God, they are bad. Gophers didn't even play that well.

I can't believe how many open looks Gabe keeps missing. It's unreal.

Gabe is really bad.

He went from a great shooter with a lot of reps as freshman to legit one of the worst shooters in the B1G now. And he doesnt contribute in really any areas right now.

I saw Minnesota -10 on Bovada and was like " shiy that seems like 7 or 8 pts off". Was feeling good at halftime then Gophs gave me a little sweat

Thought we would hit a trap @ Maryland after that big win @ Iowa but they took care of business

While the team would never admit it, they are in a bit of an unexpected spot right now. Battling for a 1 seed and getting a good amount of praise. Let's hope they can keep up this focus and intensity

Came through even with Lidell going donuts in the first half

Might be a downgrade currently but he literally did a complete roster overhaul last year and more this year. Plus this year has been a shit show with the Rona. Huskers haven't played in nearly a month and now have to play like 4 games in 7 days. I believe in Hoiberg still but these last two seasons have been some painful growing years.

Yea I figured before the year that this teams ceiling was like a 5 seed. They’ve definitely exceeded expectations

Yeah its going to take a moment for Freddy.

Guy isnt a recruiting guru. At ISU he thrived off being lazy and snagging could transfers/JUCO's to fill out his rosters. But that isn't going to work immediately when the entire roster is overhauled.

They should at the very least be competent soon. I saw yesterday that they are at 24 straight road losses......thats impressive.

Penn States tourney hopes just took a crippling blow

Frederick playing tonight. Iowa wins by 10+ tonight.

Pretty brutal half of bball in this IU/NW game.

Need to finish 5-1 to have a realistic chance IMO. They've lost a ton of close road games. 4 to Michigan, 2 to IU, 2 to MSU and 4 to Ohio State. Against OSU, MSU and IU they had GREAT looks to win those games. Just missed shots. Literally 3 made shots from being 10-6 and a top 20 team.

I don't buy one guy making this team go. Playing at home with this team against Rutgers should be a 10+ point win regardless of CJ playing.

He's a really important piece IMO. Given that Iowa lost 3 close games in his absence, I don't think it's stretch to say that. Outside of the game against Minnesota, you were blowing teams out in B1G play with him playing.

You could pretty clearly see it tonight. Just his presence makes the offense better and he's obviously a huge piece in D.

That said we shouldn't have blown double digit leads 3 times in 5 games even without him

I definitely think Iowa is vulnerable without him in the lineup. And by vulnerable, meaning Iowa could lose in the R32. With him, I think Iowa is definitely an E8 team. I think there's a lot to be said for someone who knows his role and plays it very well. He's the perfect 3 and D player. All the pieces just don't fit without him.
