Big Ten Basketball

Big Ten in the same boat as the Big East. Northwestern 10-6 in conference with win against Purdue should be in the field by a mile.

But weird numbers this year, MW taking up bids that usually go these conferences.

Northwestern also has one of the worst losses a power 6 team can have in any season.

But they will get in

No that’s why I said as unlikely as it is haha.

But it’s also not insane with the way Gophs are playing.

Beat Nebraska bad at home with no Garcia. Even if Nebraska is elite at home. It’s a good personnel match up.

Northwestern has no Berry. Even if still a good team.

Illinois is more talented and a bad match up with big guards. But they seem to have no interest in playing defense. Which always leaves a chance

I'm not going to say it's impossible, but Minnesota's 2-2 in their last 4. The two losses were on the road.

Nebraska finally got the road monkey off it's back. Hope they don't celebrate too much.
They have the two bottom feeders in Ohio St and Michigan on the road and I don't feel good about winning either. LOL

@ericd7633 im still feeling like 4-1 finish plus one BTT is needed for Gophs.

What do you think? As unlikely as it is.

I don’t think they would need better than that. But also highly doubt worse would work either.

I've been firm in that they need to get to 22 wins. If they go 4-1 in the last 5, I think it'll take at least one win in the BTT. If they go 5-0(unlikely) I think that'll be enough. That might even get us a double bye, so theoretically losing to the #5 seed won't have much of an impact.

Indiana (+ 3.5) at penn st

Iowa (+9.5) At Illinois

Don’t care about game one
But go Illinois. Nebraska probably can’t get 2nd place but 3rd is in play and Iowa losing keeps them a couple games behind Nebraska

How is NW a lock but Nebraska is still bubble? What do they have on their resume that is better. I’ll never understand that

Theyre both on the bubble. Nebraska is lower in the standings, both have a win over Purdue

Been looking at that.

Nebraska (9-7) probably has the easiest remaining schedule with Minnesota, @ Ohio St, Rutgers, @ Michigan.

Illinois (10-5) has one of the toughest remaining schedules with Iowa, Minnesota, @ Wisconsin, Purdue, @ Iowa.

Nebraska would have to win out (13-7), and Illinois would have to lose 3 of those (12-8) which is possible.

Basically the #2 - #7 spots are still open. I wouldn't want to finish #6 or #7 tho regarding the NCAA Tourney.

K St winning today probably moves that game into Q1 status. Beat the Gophers tomorrow(Q2 as of now) and all the sudden Nebraska is 8-8 in Q1/Q2 with 4 Q1 wins. And no bad losses. They'd be pretty safely in at that point(8-10 seed IMO). 3-1 finish should be enough.

Yeah, I was looking at the MW standings and got confused. I thought Colorado State was one of their best teams but they aren’t at the top. Guess I haven’t been paying attention.

So thank you for beating the Hawks, Hawk?
