What Gard was trying to do is irrelevant, he forcibly grabs and stops Howard. That's the instigation to the entire shoving match. Without that I think they both go their own ways and talk shit to each other via the press.

i mean, Gard's entire actions are irrelevant here b/c he didn't instigate Howard into throwing a punch/slap at an assistant coach.

the entire "Gard shouldn't have done that" take is dumb. Gard didn't do anything wrong.

I agree, he didn't lead to the slap. But he did forcibly grab and block Howard. it was kind of a dick move. If its me walking by and someone grabs and pulls me back, I'm punching his ass immediately.

Damn it, now I have to watch it again. That does change things, if Howard starts the conversation and Gard wants to stop and clarify it.

I think you are right, he does say something passive-aggressive it appears. Trying to look past him and make some little comment and that's when Gard grabs him. I take it back, if Howard is mouthing off and Gard is trying to stop to clarify or explain then I understand what he was doing. I was thinking Howard was just trying to get out of there, but he does appear to say something to piss Gard off.

 
Well we play Michigan on Sunday should be fun. I’m not expecting us to win there by 30 again or whatever it was last year without our best player.

What's funny is Jalen Rose was on the radio today talking about the incident and he said Michigan basketball always has a mark on their back because they're the top program (historically) in the league.

If we were having this discussion 20 years ago? Maybe. And yes I am aware that some Belien teams made it to the NC game in the last decade but I think its a stretch to call them a "top program"

Not now. Wisconsin is the top program in the conference
