BREAKING: Saban Retiring

New Twitter has made trying to follow this stuff impossible.

Thanks Elon.

In case no one has noticed the hype train has just moved through one johnny come lately coach after another. The reports seem to be following hype more than reality and shit like actual 'sources'.

It's mostly about Likes, Clicks, and Follows, on tweeter.

They keep pushing these buttons and shit is gonna get real, real fast. Tommy Rees being repeatedly mentioned is gonna cause a riot in Alabama. Him and Byrne would be gone after the first loss of the season or as soon as we could get hookers in their hotel rooms.

LOL

That tells me Kiffin's out. He's got a good thing going in Oxford. Recruiting great with lower expectations.

Why throw it away following Saban's footsteps?

Yeah, Kiffin is known for his excellent decision making.

@OregonDucks hoping that Oregon’s daddy DeBoer goes to Alabama

His path to an SEC championship got easier with Saban out of the way.

Everybody's did.

Kiffin's got Ole Miss headed in the right direction.

WIth 20th ranked classes, he won't be winning SEC titles

Kiffin has been trolling since Saban announced his retirement, but otherwise he's been just kissing Saban's ass. As AJ McCarron observed, he posts as much good stuff about Alabama on the regular as he does Ole Miss. He hasn't really made it a secret that he wants the job. The issue is the top brass at Alabama, I don't think they like him. That makes me nervous because pre Saban it was that cohort who got us guys like Mike Shula - Safe, weak and doomed.

Sure, it's hard to replace Saban and following him could be career suicide, but the bigger problem is you aren't entirely replacing him. His quote that he is going to have an office upstairs and would still be able to get after the players might make it a bit harder to take.

Coaches tend to want to come in and do things the way THEY have always done things. I'm sure there's a coach out there that would like Saban staying on as a mentor and advisor, but I can also see it turning off strong independant coaches looking to build up things their way.
