Bundesliga 2022/2023

Well that was a bit of a mess. Did they miss Lewandowski in this game? Seem to run out of ideas when they got close. Not sure if I like the 3 back, 4 midfield with wingbacks setup. I don't like it all. Nagelsmann.....hmmm. Going to be an interesting year. I thought Kimmich and Sane were brutal. Other than that everyone else pretty much average. De Ligt looked good. Phonsie pretty good. Ulreich probably the best.

I was reading Bavarian Football Works board after the game and many of us agree that Kimmich better get his act together soon or he will be riding the bench not too far in the future. He could not handle Man City press, lots of giveaways, he was partially responsible for the post shot at the end. The epitomy of how bad he was, was when he was chasing De Bruyne down the field and De Bruyne had the ball ging down the field and he could not catch him. Falling behind. How many times we see that last year? Kimmich out of position chasing back in desparation but too slow. He is pretty slow to be honest.

Same with Sane. Where was he? Was he on the field? At this point, start Musiala. He was breaking down Man City a bit. Bayern may have made some great signings this year but the Sane and Coman extensions could be costly. Coman is not a wingback so why re-sign him.
 
Playing City is always tough, but I imagine it's especially tough in the preseason when players are still trying to work on their fitness. That press can be a real bear to deal with.

Re: Kane...I wouldn't get your hopes up. Unless something dramatic happens at Spurs this year, Kane is staying as long as Conte stays.

The Kane rumblings are odd. Bayern just signed a young striker Tel. Plus Nagelsmann doesn't like strikers. He likes wingbacks and false 9's. Might be why in second half last season Lewandowski output drastically tailed off...or maybe not motivated. But Bayern couldn't score against anyone. City press is a bear but Bayern midfield last year again looks like the biggest problem this year and now no striker and a striker who was top notch in the hold up play too. Mane didn't play in this game so it looks like Mane/Gnabry will fill in for Lewey. I expect Mane to get a bundle of goals in the Bundesliga. We'll see. Could be a weird year in Munich this season.

Mane will shine. His goalscoring output is going to be insane in Bundesliga.
If Kane has a good season, he could again get most goals and most assists in EPL. His passing is vastly underrated i feel.

Kane is also very good at holdup play. A lot of strikers ignore that part of the game. And that is a strikers job also.

Dortmund only looked ok. Flat in the 2nd half. They look like they might miss Haaland. Weird seeing Sule in yellow. Looked a little chunky. Came off at halftime.
 
Pumped for the Super Cup.

Supposedly Sabitzer is going to start. Needs to prove he shouldn’t be sold. I hope he does well.

I agree. We’ll get good idea about these teams tomorrow. I think Leipzig is Bayern’s biggest threat this season.

You know what would be intriguing? Ronaldo to BVB. They fit his requirement of UCL.

The problem with Ronaldo, he won't press and his personality it overwhelms the young players. One big example: Bruno Fernandes. When he came to Man U, he lit it up, dominated, but then Ronaldo arrived and he was a shell of himself last year. Not just Fernandes, you wonder if that affect happened to Martial, Sancho, Rashford. They all wilted once Ronaldo arrived. Ronaldo perfect for a veteran team, but a young team no so sure.

For some reason I can see he and Reus not hitting it off.
 
Nice start to the Super Cup.

I was hoping Mane would score quickly.
 
Sane better be worried with Musiala.
