Caleb Williams

NIL is better for that. At least you are paying for production, unlike handing out bags and hoping they don’t transfer in year 2.
NIL has no limits so how long until a Caleb Williams starts an open auction for his services?

Putting these kids under contract is going to have to be part of the process.

Jordan deal incoming.

Everyone just chill.

If Williams bolts just for NIL money then college football is officially dead and we need to rethink the whole thing. If you are going to pay them that kind of money then you should be able to lock them into a 4-year deal and they can't shop. We also just need to let these kids go onto the NFL and have one and dones like basketball.

We basically have created a miniature NFL with:
- No Salary cap
- No team rights to a player
- No oversight

If the NFL worked this way owners like Jerry Jones would lock up all the A talent and teams like Chicago and Green Bay wouldn't have any kind of shot.
Lol fucking hypocritical cock sucker. So paying for recruits by “donating” to their church is perfectly acceptable but doing it out in the open is what is going to kill college football. GTFO

you would be complaining too if you were sitting in Auburn's chair. You think they have the resources to play this game like your Spartans?!?!?!? CFB is dead now!!!

I’d imagine they can have the resource to match the resources of another little brother programs. Who knows with us having billionaires footing the bill of our coach.

Don't we have the same thing in CFP with just a handful of teams "locking up all the A talent"? May not be just one like JJ but damn few.

come on, you aren’t that naive. Jimbo said it best “there has always been NIL stuff going on, it just wasn’t legal”. Transfer portal has opened up another door for cheating. I don’t understand why fans were OK with blatant cheating, but NIL is something they can’t stomach
With NCAA being totally neutered, ain't no "cheating" now is there?

A&M just bought the best class ever with bag money, but you are complaining about NIL? Which one is going to hurt Auburn more?

Just where does he think he's going to get "NFL" development?
I would have thought he would end up with Riley but all the smoke is that he'll go to UGA.. Guess they trust Monken more than Lebby?

What makes anyone believe there aren't stipulations built into the NIL's? They are business contracts. They would be stupid not to put in there details about having to be at the school for x years etc.

sounds like Auburn needs to step it up?
Auburn is going to do fine. There is plenty of money to compete. This is a philosophical issue. The portal nor NIL has hurt Auburn to this point for the most part

A lot of assumption in that post there sport. I’m fine with everything above board and no I didn’t particularly care for the seedy underbelly.

My point is if they basically run a league with no salary cap and complete free agency then the inmates are going to run the asylum. If we want parity amongst the P5 schools (which we desperately need) then put a limit on NIL and transfers.

If players are auctioning themselves every year it’s going to be a complete shit show.

He still winning the Heisman, or.....?

Yes but having players auctioning themselves off to the highest bidder already and there was 0 fucking parity. Acting like NIL is what is causing players to flip schools is ignorant, especially from a fucking Auburn fan is ridiculous.
