Conference Tournaments Thread

That's where win % comes into the equation. It's no different than what happens with teams like Gonzaga and St. Mary's(in a typical year). Pitt is 1 game under .500 in Q1/Q2. Pitt is 14-10 against Q1-Q3. Indiana State is 15-5.

They also have very good metrics, which is part of the equation. If they had JMU-like metrics, I don't think they'd have much of a case. They also were the outright winner of a top 9 league, which historically has bode well for inclusion.

There's still a lot of games left to be played, as of now I think they have a shot based on historical precedence. There's not a lot of data points with the NET, but no team ranked in the top 30 of the NET has been left out. Doesn't mean they will be included, but there's reason for some optimism.
So this is where we are. Teams with one top 50 win all season are now receiving an at-large bid in the NCAAT. lmao. Pretty wild stuff. Also, committee sources have come out and said that not every Q1 and Q2 win is judged the same. A Q1 win over Kansas is a lot different than a Q1 win vs Bradley. Indiana State has zero Q1A wins. But sure, let's put them in the dance because people love mid majors.

They might not get in either. I would agree beating Kansas means more than winning @ Bradley. They distinguish between that on the team sheets with Q1A wins Q2A wins etc. Out of their 10 Q1/Q2 games only two were at home. I'd say going 5-5 against that is pretty good. Like I said, I don't think it'll be the lack of quality wins that keeps them out rather their Q4 loss at home.

I'm just saying, I wouldn't be surprised one way or another if they get in. They are 15-5 Q1-Q3. 15-5 away/neutral and their metrics avg out to 40 across the board.

It's close.

Nova has a win against two teams that will likely be a 2 and a 3 seed.

But a crapload of bad losses.

They're the poster child for screwing with the committee's head.

Indiana State is a little bit of a more generic case, they've seen that movie a lot before.

As for which team can do more, get in, beat Florida, beat Duke, etc, honestly I would say Indiana State.

Short of the top 3 teams, they can beat any team. Does Nova have a better chance to beat those 3 teams? Maybe. But they also have a better chance of coming out, not showing any discipline on defense, getting and being down 20 by the 10 minute mark

Ha. Dauster on the DTF podcast just said he’s gonna raise hell if a a 15 loss Nova gets in over Indiana State.

Feels like the So Con title game always delivers. Hoping Samford can pull this out.

Herb Sendek is still coaching, lmfao

it's been nearly twenty years since he was run out of Raleigh. amazing.

San Francisco sucks against us in 2nd halves.

Marciulonis kid plays for St Marys. Hes good, St Marys steals some good guards.

Shame Pitt is already in the QF's. Could have had an old ACC feel with a Clemson win. A UNC, Wake, Duke, UVA SF would be pretty nice.

Nova. My god man.

Nova is going to win

But holy fucking shit

I will say though. If this was any other Power 6 team, Nova would be down about 15.

DePaul is just that bad. After getting up 8. They proceeded to go like 6 possessions of missed layups and dribbling off their knees haha

Dixon - "fuck that shit boy" lmaooo.

Such a DePaul way to lose. Knew they would play for win. Then they throw it away haha.

Nova gonna win tomorrow. Anytime team blows and survives in back to back tournies they come out godly in next round it seems

Clemson. Wtf was that game. A BC/NC St Semi would be amazing.

Yeah, I can see that happening too. That's about as shitty as you can play and still win. Their NET is gonna drop by probably 10 or so lol

Yeah thats the worst part. I was planning to get a Q1 win out of a Q1 loss tomorrow. No chance Nova gets to top 30 now.

Watch Dixon make 7 3s tomorrow. That dude kept chucking 3s against fucking DePaul and nearly lost them the game. And Neptune let it happen.
