Crazy, bitch ass weather

Austin hit 101 yesterday. It is the latest time of the year to hit 100+ in recorded history.

I believe the previous latest date was October 2 set back in 1938.

High today of 73
Currently 56

Freezing GIF

Highs in upper 80s, lows in mid 60s, clear blue skies. It's about as perfect as your gonna get down here.
Crazy bitch must be passed out somewhere, letting this good stuff last this long.

Gonna have to fire up the furnace for a few days. Highs hovering around 60, lows around 30 for the next 72 hours.

Same.

Fired mine up this morning because the house was down to 60 in here and not enough outside heat to warm it back up through daytime.

Need to go out and check my propane tank though. iirc I had about 40% left in the tank when I shut it off last spring.

That initial smell (every fall) of dust burning off the furnace burners.
Prefer to wait a couple of weeks and smell the leaves burning

I got no choice up here.

It's a nice sunny 60° here right now, but that sun's not enough to make a dent on the house temp. Especially since the leaves are still on the trees and my house is basically in shade.

We have a frost warning tonight and then a freeze warning tomorrow night. If I hadn't turned on the heat I'd be down into the 50's tomorrow morning.

Winter has set in here also. Low tonight ...... 44. Damn crazy bitch ass weather

Weathermen trying to create interest and be relevant.

Predicted low of 32, two nights ago.....44 for the actual low.

We're drier than a popcorn fart with temps in the 70's and 25 mph sustained winds with gusts over 40 mph.

Red Flag fire warnings and VFD's begging farmers to stay out of their fields.
i.e. "One or two days is NOT gonna make or break your harvest".

There was a huge grass fire this morning that had crews from 25 miles away responding.

30-45 mph winds, super dry. Major field fire 7 miles west of me. Not a good day.

Same here.

Had a field fire a couple miles north of me last week that had every VFD within 30 miles of here fighting it. Thankfully the winds were moving the fire away from me.

Numerous farmers were out disking fire breaks. They got it under control in about three hours.

This fire was 1st reported at 2:45. Moving fast. The front is now approx 5 miles due west. It'll miss me, but the wife drives through that area coming home from work. I let her know.
