Curious how the CFP would handle this

Isn't that when they crowned USC as champions even though they weren't in the agreed upon championship game? USC still claims that as a championship.
Yeah, I believe so.

I hope there are writers out there who see the potential and vote Oregon #1 at playoffs end. I think doing so could shine the light on this flawed playoff setup. If there were a couple AP voters who voted Oregon #1 it would generate the discussion that badly needs to be discussed.

Further, just like it took Arizona state a half to get into a rhythm to come back vs Texas.

Second half of rose bowl:
Oregon 21
Ohio state 7

Ok. But the first half was 34-8 tOSU...so you still lose.

Don’t look now but Oregon could finish #1 in the Colley rankings. Thought the playoffs was supposed to stop this issue

Means the national champion may not be #1 in all rankings

Who was that Bama fan at the other Hoop that always tried to use his own ranking system in discussions instead of the real ones?

I'm pretty sure that even his rankings would get more respect than Colley?

Any metric rating system is usually a joke, all those things have obvious shit barely .500 teams like Auburn and Oklahoma in the top 25 and even some sub .500 SEC teams up near it. I don't know how it always works out that way but seems all of them have some inherent SEC bias programmed in.

In a playoff scenario, single elimination, the best team doesn't always win.

But I can tell you that Oregon is clearly not the best team...

Check out how UGA, a BYE team, is doing. A stat I know off the top of my head is that every BYE team has trailed by double digits in their game
Because they all suck.

Dumbass.

That settles it, give oregon the natty right now!

ASU had one of their main defenders out for that first half due to a stupid targeting penalty from the CCG. His return likely had more to do with their improved defensive play in the second half than your mythical rust theory.

Congratulations on getting the #1 overall seed and being undefeated all year, now go play road games against all your competition. Horse shit

If you didn't travel to your opponents home stadium...you didn't play a road game...you played a neutral site game.

Ftr, so did your opponent.

tOSU having been to the Rose Bowl more than Oregon just means that Oregon shouldn't have sucked for so many years. Also, it's irrelevant since the current players haven't been there.

In March Madness doesn't the #1 overall seed get the region that is closest to them?

You mean like how Eugene, Oregon is much closer to Pasadena than Columbus, Ohio is?

That what you mean by closest region?
