Credit to Oregon for what they've done there, but as history has shown the job there is a launching point to bigger jobs. Y'all could change that, but you ain't gonna do it for $4.4 million per year.

It's a job! Of course it is about money. He's not there to do charity work. He's the FOURTH highest paid coach in the PAC, even though he's owned it.

And his buyout drops to $6.5 million after mid January, just in time.

We recruit like an SEC school, we have a defense like an SEC school, we have a powerful offense that can run the same run play over and over and can't be stopped. Oregon and Cristobal have created a powerhouse out West and this conference is our stepping stone every year to the CFP

So it isnt just an emotional decision. Think about it, do you want 4 million a year but guaranteed stability, or at least very good stability, or do you want 10 million a year with a major unknown.

Cristobal essentially is guaranteed 3 more years at Oregon. That means he finishes out this year, can be 4-8 next year, 4-8 the following year and then maybe his seat gets hot going into that next year.

Or take a job like Florida, where expectations are huge and they expect immediate success, you're going up against Georgia, Lsu, Alabama, the rest of the SEC, and you may get 10 million a year but you may not make it past 2 years and next thing you know you're looking for a job instead of having jobs being offered to you.

I'm a stability guy and when I am already making millions with stability and comfort, I dont see the reason to risk it for a few million more.

One of those losses comes from a once in a lifetime fumble on a young guy trying to do too much when it was not needed and the last one comes from being screwed by the officials. I am not the only one that thinks that about the officials, it is pretty universally known and understood from the sports media. Oregon got screwed in that game.

You're not paying attention to the whole picture. Oregon's recruiting is light years ahead of any other PAC school, the way Oregon wins those games is way more dominant then the score indicates. Last night we beat Washington by 10, but that game was over when it was UW 9 and Oregon 3 and Washington tried to go for it on 4th and 1 instead of taking the points to make the game 12-3. That is how large the gap is between Oregon and some of it's fellow members in the conference. They need to play a near perfect game to beat the Ducks.

Dabo Swinney makes almost double what Cristobal does at Oregon....That's not the same.

It's capitalism. If you want to keep the best you gotta pay the best. Push your school to pay the guy and you *may can keep him, but you can't keep low balling and expect top coaches to stay there. It's irrational.
