Does Nebraska matter in the B1G?

Your own TV deal is an example of you getting to call the shots. That wouldn't happen in the SEC. The fact that the other teams allowed you to have unequal sharing shows that you call the shots, even if they went along with it. They had to. The teams in the SEC don't have to. I am not saying it's UT's fault ... could be. You did what was best for you. That's fine. Just doesn't work that way in the SEC.

you know UT came to Nebraska about forming a Big 12 channel, but they said no and were exploring doing a Husker network for it's tier 3 rights.. UT then went to aggy about forming a LoneStar network, and they too turned them down. Texas had no idea that ESPN was gonna offer 300 mil for it..

LHN wouldn't have happened in the SEC because LHN was the practice dummy for the SEC network. Texas didn't go against anyone's wishes.. had they really been able to call the shots, there would be no LHN it would be a Big 12 network.
 
No, Nebraska hasn't mattered in the B1G. I hope they'll start making a little noise soon. But they are still relevant.

I'm getting the lay of the land. I've read some of the conversational agreements that were just foolish. I always enjoy when people say what Nebraska should do to become great again.

Thief talks about recruiting alot. He talks about Herman. Neither are the root of the problem. I'm starting too agree with you.

Dodds and Byrne discussed a network before the LHN. But Dodds claimed Texas brought more to the table so they would get the 75% split. Byrne told him to eat shit and die.

Didn't say it would be easy, but I'm really not sure how else a "lower tier" team would do it. That's why it took them so long. They actually started trying to build their program up in, I believe, the mid 90's.

With scholarship limits, even if USC is up, they still can't sign everyone. So that helps. Even during Pete Carroll, when USC was basically just picking and choosing who they wanted. Oregon was going to the guys that were left out and saying "Come play at Oregon, stay in the PAC and show them they made a mistake by beating them.

That's not the way the SEC works. We are the SEC. Our Tier 3 games are on the SEC network. We have divisions, but they are all SEC. Seems like you UT people look at it differently than us SEC folks. SECtx, please.

A coach who acts like a moron that is paid millions of dollars. Your AD should go with the coach. Hire Klieman from kstate. You'd win the big 12 every year. He probably wouldn't be sexy enough for the donors though. You say Nebraska and Texas are the same except Texas has hope, but you fail to see the big picture or what's behind the curtain. Texas loses to Kansas, Maryland, Kansas St, Iowa St. And it is no longer shocking. An OU fan tells me Texas is Mike Tyson and Nebraska doesn't know how to make a fist. Big 12 is garbage, and I look forward to playing OU next season. That will be one of the easier games. whorns down.
