Fat guy posting his wins

Race day today. Not as fast as I wanted but 1 min faster than a month ago. Was kicking its ass but had some knee pain over the last 3 miles. Getting old and shit.

Still light years ahead of last May when I couldn't run a half mile without stopping.

I run about three times a week, between 1 to 3 miles per, but I usually push pace pretty good (for me, anyway), I like to run at 7.5mph (8min pace) or more.

I've never tried a long distance run, though. A friend does long runs regularly. He seems to think that I'd be able to do if fairly easily if I dropped the pace so I wasn't spiking my heart rate. He suggested a 5-6mph pace, which is about what you did this morning. I'm still not convinced I could do it.
