Fields sucks...a thread for his apologists.

Getsy and Flus can choke on my dick, but damn dude, for such shitty playcalling, there are dudes running fucking free EVERYWHERE. He has missed at least 3 surefire TDs this year, and God only knows how many wide open downfield throws.

I'm done. I like the kid. I wanted him to be this new age Vick on crack, that was gonna be the future prototype en shit, but goddamn dude, he is terrible. Trubisky never looked so bad. And honestly, I've said it from day one...he is unsure. He is SLOW. For a guy that is the fastest dude on the field, he looks like he's drenched in honey when passing. Drop back, wind up...even the goddamn ball seems slow getting there!?

Now, to be fair, our d-line, last year, and apparently this year too, is as bad as any I've seen in the Bears history. They are 300 lb men playing fucking patty cake. It is god-fucking-awful. But Fields is shit.

12 straight losses, dating back to Oct. 24, 2022. They are the only team to give up 25+ points in every one of those games.

I'm ornery. It bugs.

I'll make no judgment about Fields. He may or may not be a serviceable QB, but build a decent team, then get a QB. I blame management for the Bears ineptness.

Many potential franchise QBs have busted because management thought a young QB could be properly developed behind a shoddy offensive line.

Dallas will give you Lance for next seasons 2nd.

I bet 15 bucks to win 165 on their being an 0-17 team this year. Banking on the Bears to be historically bad

Still not sure Bryce could save them.......theyre just as bad.
I know it's still early but I'm seeing some similarities between Justin Fields and Bryce Young. Poor decision making, holding the ball too long... Think maybe Houston hit the jackpot with Stroud, but then I remember he's a Buckeye

Went out looking at what talking heads are saying about a Fields trade, and it's funny. Most have other teams giving up a QB plus a pick to get fields. My favorites:

TEN gives up Malik +3rd for Fields
Raiders give up Garropolo +5th for Fields

:pound:

That is right up there with the 9ers fans complaining about trade proposals prior to DAL getting Lance for a 4th rounder. "With what we gave up we won't trade for less than a 1st". DERP.

I would greatly prefer keeping Fields over either of those trade offers.

I don't see anything from Fields to think he is suddenly going to "get it". He's going to need a change of scenery and even then, his best days are likely now behind him. I'd take the TEN trade all day long. Willis has 2 years on his contract after this for a total of $3m, plus you get a 3rd. Then you continue to suck and take Caleb #1 and thank the titans for the free early 3rd round pick plus cap savings.

In reality there is no chance TEN makes that offer, but CHI accepts it in a nano-second and screams "no take backs" before slamming the phone down.

At this point I wouldn’t touch Fields with a ten foot pole if I were other teams. Not at the QB position anyway.
maybe the Saints want him. they love to pay non-QB's to pretend to be a QB for a few plays a game.

It's hard to look at what FIelds did for a large portion of last year (despite the complete shitshow surrounding him at every single spot) and say he has no shot of ever becoming a good QB. He just turned 24 earlier this spring, so it's not like he can't possibly develop further.

Willis, on the other hand, has shown quite literally nothing. He can't even beat out Tannehill, who has been arguably worse than Fields this year so far, and they spent an early 2nd rounder on another QB this year as well. Not to mention Willis is the same age as Fields, so what would be the point?

The point would be 1) no controversy when Caleb comes in, 2) cap savings, 3) free draft pick from TEN which should be pretty early in the round.

There's no actual controversy on the current team other than idiotic fans who think a dude that looked good for a few preseason drives against the Colts backups should play.

They could bring in Caleb Williams, but if you're bringing him onto this team, things aren't going to magically change. There are a ton of major flaws on this team, namely on the coaching side. If you're saying throw out Eberflus, Gatsy, and Fields and bring in a true NFL HC and OC with Caleb, then you're onto something.

Just build an OL and acouple WR that can get open quickly.
