Final Friday in March Morning Thread

Indiana and Kentucky are lifting requirements. I'm guessing we will before Pennsylvania or michigan. We're still a ways off, though
Kentucky you say? Sounds like DJ can finally move to Indianapolis

I have been reading a lot about the 1918 Spanish Flu Pandemic. There are so many parallels
it definitely isn't an unheard of thing in this planet's history...we should have been better prepared...

but I also think many of us were in a "that's a thing of the past" mentality, never thinking we'd ever see anything like it again.

I am glad I didn't lose use of my legs

yet

I'm gonna feel a lot more comfortable about our Easter get together. Daughter also got her second shot a few days ago. She had more side effects than her grandmother (who had zip), which I did not miss the chance to give her shit about.
MN is opening up for all people starting next week. I’m sure there will be a logjam though. If I can’t get it before mid-April, I’m going to try to get an appointment in my hometown when we go back for a long weekend.

I don’t know why a lot of places are even bringing people back. If you are getting the same productivity, I’d save the money of the physical space and cut the space to a level where people can rotate in and out as necessary. Especially for large employers.
I think we'll see a lot of employers do just that, Target and Blue cross I know have already announced permanent changes

i now have a collection of hard candy, my transition to senior citizen is nearly complete

Agreed. We have seen how underprepared our medical systems are and we do not seem to have any idea of how to handle a nationwide crisis.

I wonder if Scurvy will make a come back?

The Mrs' place of business is looking at doing that. They own a fairly large building in downtown Cleveland and sent the majority of people home last spring to work. They are seeing that it's working and the space isn't necessary. Not sure how many are in the market for a large office building right now though
My company was trying to downsize its footprint in Manhattan. I'd be happy to assist in making for one less desk in the office.

Luckily, I think demand will be low here, so I may be able to swing by Walgreens and get one fairly easily.

I feel like my company wants to put us back in the building they are paying to maintain because they need to justify us maintaining the building.
Assuming they own all the property/buildings, that makes more sense in your situation. You can’t exactly move a power plant.
