Without a doubt. Financially, the school hit a homerun. Athletically, especially for the football program, it couldn't have been a worse move. It made a recruiting situation that was already tough with no in state talent, damn near impossible for them -- as you have to convince recruits to move multiple states over and then play all their games in the Midwest.

Newsflash -- NO ELITE COACH IS EVER GOING TO NEBRASKA. 'Elite coaches' go to states with talent rich recruiting footprints where they can sign elite recruiting classes.

Saban -- Alabama (one of the most talent rich states). LSU (one of the most talent rich states)
Urban Meyer -- Florida (one of the most talent rich states). Ohio (one of the most talent rich states)
Kirby Smart -- Georgia (one of the most talent rich states)
Dabo Swinney -- Clemson (located on the border of the single most talent rich state Georgia and located in the SEC footprint) The two QB's who led Clemson to national titles -- Watson and Lawrence both came from...........Georgia.

It isn't rocket science. Nebraska has ZERO in state talent, next to no talent in surrounding states -- that is why the coaches they have hired consisted of Bo Pelini, Mike Riley, Scott Frost, etc. You will never see an elite coach leave one of the prime coaching spots to go to Nebraska, like how Lincoln Riley left OU for USC. Or Kelly left ND to go to LSU. They did so because they now have a ton of elite recruits in their own backyard.

A dynasty? Who the hell is talking about a dynasty? Using that logic -- the only elite time right now is Alabama. They are the only dynasty.

Elite programs are the teams regularly competing for a national title. The teams regularly winning their conference, getting into the CFP. Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Georgia. That is who the elite programs are. Teams who could be elite with the right coach -- USC, LSU, Florida, Florida State, Texas. I'm sure I missed one or two, but the gist is -- if you can't sign elite recruiting classes. You aren't going to be elite regardless of who you have as coach.
