Good bye Big 12

The goal by all was to bring Nebraska down.

Even at the cost of cutting off their own noses to spite their faces.
lol nebraska voted for unequal revenue.. the other schools voted for more money to move the CCG from alternating to keeping it in Arlington

They also passed on a conference network

if voting to take away giving 5th grade reading level kids a scholarship because they can play football well translates to wanting nebraska down.. well so be it lol

the boo hooing of that fanbase is nauseating

Well if that was the goal then it worked but they paid a huge price for it.

Yeah. I have no sympathy for the Big 12 North teams that bought the elixir tejas was selling them. That somehow bringing down Nebraska was going to make them better.

I don't much blame the south teams as their votes supporting the tejas proposals helped them.

Lincoln and Kliff are basically extensions of the Air Raid.
Honestly you shouldn’t even be using them in the same sentence, and I don’t like either.

I refer to the tejas proposal to 'limit coaches time out of the office' on the recruiting trail.

Since the south teams primarily recruited Texas it wasn't going to affect them. The north teams did become more competitive with Nebraska, but when those north division champs played in the CCG, they typically got their asses handed to them.

Regarding '5th grade reading levels'. Somehow Wonderlic Vince Young was able to take snaps at tejas.

At the time Nebraska led the nation in Academic All-Americans, and I believe they still might.

lmaoo you are crying about that still? My bad, guess that's why y'all are killing recruiting in the BiG

so the death of NU was because of them not being able to recruit.. took away the special ed schollies and of course the travel.. so so sad. funny thing though.. they didn't go 7 straight seasons without hitting 7 wins and qualifying for a bowl like they are now...

Nebraska football Academic All-Americans

Yes. Grant Wistrom (Lombardi Award) was an Academic All-American.

It's a long-standing butthurt that all the Preparation H in the world will never cure.

i will miss the coaching presser meltdowns and of course.. the awesome officiating.. yes they sucked at actual refereeing, however they would beat the shit out of any other refs from any other conference.. Always putting on a gun show

To a degree…we ran the ball quite effectively with LR.
Just kind of the progression of the Air Raid. Leach was pure Air Raid. Holgo added more run. Riley added some more

Yep. His "air raid" portion of the offense works best when he has an O-line that can open running lanes. People overlook that. Briles running game was also overlooked because of the perception they just chunked it all the time. When Baylor had an O-line that could handle run blocking when the defense only had 5-6 in the box, they were successful. When they didn't have that they were one dimensional and defenses could stop the run with only 5.

The option days of the Big 8 were incredible to see and I do miss them.

However, I never felt like the Big 12 was part of that legacy just as I never felt like the Big 12 was part of the SWC legacy.

I think the sad part is that a conference that had Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska and aTm couldn't make it as a viable conference. That is a lineup that should have thrived and should be considered a failure by all parties.
I don’t think so. The Big 12 was a shotgun wedding of 2 failed conferences. The biggest issue for the Big 12 was that is had the smallest population footprint of any conference. CFB became about money and conference with 1/3 of its conference in 1 state was always going to struggle. Not to mention several B schools from small population states (ISU and KSU). Big 12 just had the worst assets of any conference
