Harbaugh facing 4 game suspension

Even if there is, it means no big ten games. If it were 5 games in 2024, that means potentially not having him there for teams like usc or ucla early in the season. At minimum, it splits up any penalty.

Or the University look at the evidence and knows Harbs is guilty and they are hoping this will keep them from a harsher penalty from Harbs breaking the rules.

I think the university (and Harbaugh) were purposeful in choosing 3, not 4 or more.

I mean the NCAA doesn't have to "accept it" since Michigan is technically doing it to themselves. Like I said it's really just a spineless move by Ward Manuel to cover the Athletic Department's ass. If things come down to it they are going to throw Harbaugh to the wolves. that is 100% obvious.

I don't think they are. They're positioning themselves to push back on any additional punishments, hence the language in Michigan's announcement yesterday.

I read it as they 3 gamer is the Athletic Department "admitting their fault" and covering their own ass if the NCAA decides to drop the hammer on Harbaugh once they finish their investigation.
