that idiot father may have accidentally gotten 2 of his kids drafted in the top 3.

With not much more than his fucking mouth

Just shows how weak this draft really is

He went from a second round flier to a top 5 pick with an insane growth spurt. Not a lot of 6 foot 8 point guards. I'm sure most thought given his frame he'd settle in slightly shorter than Lonzo.

Disagree he was a second round flier. He was a five star recruit as a freshman and sophmore I’m college through his senior year. The growth spurt helped possibly propel him to top 5 level but he would have easily been considered in the lottery somewhere.

Agreed he was a top recruit but his dad's mismanagement jacked him up. I truly do believe that spurt is the thing that saved him. If he was six foot 4 I don't think he gets the buzz and obviously he wouldn't be as effective

I mean I get it happens...hell I went from starting high school at 5 foot to six foot by graduation with a seven inch spurt in a little over a year myself. You just tend not to see it with athletes to that degree.

I think folks are downgrading LaMelo because his Dad's a loudmouth.

The kid has been playing professional basketball since high school. Obviously, the Australian league isn't the NBA, but it's a professional league and he was #2 in both assists and steals in that league. I'm pretty sure there have been a couple of pretty good NBA players who started out in that league.

meanwhile, liangelo is a "g league practice player" for the thunder.

i wonder when he gets hooked on drugs?

I can't wait to see the NBA-level people get ahold of this kid and let him come out of a summer camp. Damn, and he's still growing? Plus Zo will make sure he doesn't wear his father's awful BBB shoes and fuck his ankles up.

You seen the girls hanging around him though? Sheeeit. He's a D-list celebrity in LA which makes for a pretty exciting life for a kid like him.

he can play. tho, can he shoot from outside? all his highlights are passes and driving.

I looked at his stats. He's going to need to work on his 3 (I believe it was sub 30%), but he was 46% in 2 point range which is actually pretty good for a guard.

yes, but that included layups, which he does a lot of.

I'm surprised his Pops hasn't gotten him in one of those LA-area shooting schools yet where they literally shoot a thousand jumpshots a day with one of those specialists.

Wolves with the first pick. Does dengelo move to true shooting guard and we get lamelo?

He needs to get a more consistent 3 point shot but shit, there's a lot of players that play D-1 ball and don't have a consistent outside shot...like Morant, still doesn't.

He can facilitate, quick hands, he can finish with the left and the right and a pretty good dribbler...his size helps a lot. He just doesn't seem like a good shooter and I don't think he is very quick for his build...which could be an issue considering he isn't a consistent shooter. But he is also only 18 (turns 19 tomorrow).
