Hard to belive Lamelo Ball may go #1

Wolves with the first pick. Does dengelo move to true shooting guard and we get lamelo?

I'm not sure I like the thought of D'Lo and LaMelo on the same team but that's just me. I think Anthony Edwards is the obvious choice for Minny or maybe they go a different direction idk.

Yep, Edwards seems the logical pick for Minny to me.

IMO the Warriors should go with Wiseman instead of LaMelo too

I looked at his stats. He's going to need to work on his 3 (I believe it was sub 30%), but he was 46% in 2 point range which is actually pretty good for a guard.

2 point range is deceiving because it includes layups and dunks. Wonder what his midrange percentage is. He's also not a great freethrow shooter at 72.3%. None of his metrics as a shooter are impressive to say the least. There need to be massive strides in his shooting.

Runs in the family

Honestly my top 3 for this draft of guys I'd want for the Warriors is:

Edwards
Wiseman
Avdija

Top options for Cavs:

Wiseman (most likely isn't here)
Toppin
Avdija
Trade the pick

Been watching Avdija's highlights and I like him more everday and he can definitely play the 3...I just don't get why he didn't play many minutes in Euroleague? I know he is still very young but 14 mins a game?

But his per 36 look better of course: his 18-19 36 mins are comparable to Doncic's (pts and rebounds) but Deni was also getting only 4 mins/game lol. He just seems like much more of a project....

What I like most about him is his attitude towards the game. Dude is said to be super competitive and a very hard worker. Also saw that his dad was a former pro-basketball player too. I would think his biggest challenge will be adapting to the speed of the game. But skillset and bball IQ seem to be very legit.

Layups matter though, if Rubio could hit a contested layup he would be a multi time all star despite his outside shooting.

if wolves take Lamelo 1 then they will set a record for uncontested layups allowed

This is a big reason I don't think he's an option for the Warriors. Warriors value three things in players I've seen them draft: 1) play making ability 2) defensive ability and 3) shooting. Melo misses the mark on 2 of the 3.

Is Edwards a good defender? Seriously asking bc I didn't watch him. That being said Edwards is athletic af, why more athletic than LaMelo so I feel he could play defense and obviously scoring machine.

He needs to get a more consistent 3 point shot but shit, there's a lot of players that play D-1 ball and don't have a consistent outside shot...like Morant, still doesn't.

He can facilitate, quick hands, he can finish with the left and the right and a pretty good dribbler...his size helps a lot. He just doesn't seem like a good shooter and I don't think he is very quick for his build...which could be an issue considering he isn't a consistent shooter. But he is also only 18 (turns 19 tomorrow).
hes gonna be a version of tatum at guard (frame wise), i can see it. hes gonna end up around 6'9 or more. i can see within 2-3 years, 17/7/7or so. he'll be 21/22 by then.

He has defensive potential. That's one of the worries about him, is his motor goes in and out, especially on defense. But there have been enough flashes of his defensive potential that I don't think it should be a major deterrent. I haven't seen a ton of him, but Edwards also just said if he locks in every play, he'll be a great defender. The problem is you need someone to hold him accountable to play defense. Honestly, he's just like a smaller version of Wiggins, imo. All the potential is there, but it's a matter of putting it together.

Wiggins played more defense with the Warriors than I ever saw of him with the Wolves. Draymond won't allow that shit to fly if he doesn't guard. Jimmy Buckets was probably that guy trying to get Wiggins and KAT to give more effort on Defense, but then they shipped him out. If the Wolves take Edwards, they need someone to hold him accountable so he doesn't fall into that similar Wiggins trap.

I'm surprised his Pops hasn't gotten him in one of those LA-area shooting schools yet where they literally shoot a thousand jumpshots a day with one of those specialists.

Most would...but this is Lavar Ball. Since he could beat Jordan 1 on 1, he's all the shooting coach his boys need. lol

That puts him ahead of Lonzo in pretty much every category.

Magic went from 76% at the line to a league-leading 91%. If he could get that number up to 85%+ it'd impact every part of his game.

D'Lo is at his best when he's playing the 2. LaMelo is a 1 and an excellent passer. If the Minny plays LaMelo at point and D-Lo at 2, it could work.
