How Many People Do You Know Personally Who Have Been Diagnosed with Covid?

I don't personally know anyone that has had it. It went through my daughters school pretty bad, but we quarantined and never felt anything, so I assume none of us had it. I got tested once when the cleaning crew in my office got it, I could not afford another 2 week quarantine so I got tested.
 
My daughter caught it at college. Otherwise I do not know anyone that has been diagnosed with it.

You need some healthier acquaintances.
 
Probably around 30 mostly pre-teens, teenagers and kids in their 20s with some of their parents mixed in. No one over 50 and everyone got over it in a couple of weeks except for 2 adults in the 45 to 50 range and they've been struggling with in.

Vast majority had no symptoms or had flu like symptoms that lasted a couple of weeks. One of the 19 year olds I sat right next too through a dinner and hung out with him and his parents for three hours. He started getting fever a couple of hours later and tested positive the next day. Neither his parents, me or my wife tested positive.

She is, thanks. It hit her somewhere between a really bad cold and flu. Lots of coughing. Was 3-4 weeks ago right after semester started, but she's good now. Her roommate had it, too come to think of it. No symptoms though.
 
Here's the thing my kids are college age and pretty much all my friends are in the same boat. These college kids are getting it, getting though it and moving on.

There have been hardly any hospitalizations among that demographic and zero deaths. The worst thing they did was send these kids home from college where they could spread it wider.

They aren't going to stop hooking up and partying. Isn't going to happen and this thing isn't going away.

Basically anyone under 60 that doesn't have compromising conditions should be just living their lives but being smart about it.
 
Opinions differ on what is smart.

And that is the entire problem.

lil bro and his wife (mid 40s) (back in June) -
he's an RN workin a covid unit -
he had mild symptoms,
but hers was a bit worse -
bout two weeks for recovery -

in-laws (79 n 82) -
tested last tues, rec'd notice on thurs -
fil had slight fever -
no symptoms for mil -
only a couple days before
he was back out feedin his critters -

One person I know (my 88 yr old MIL) was diagnosed with Covid a few months back. She fell and the bone bruise in her hip led to a nasty infection which led to a stint in a rehab facility and when she was discharged her paperwork had a diagnosis for the China flu. Wifey has been an RN for 25 years so she inquired about the testing details and was rebuffed right from the start. Her mother is fine and never had any symptoms of the Wuhan virus. The nursing home/rehab joint got their stipend from the feds and closed the books on it.
