How's your boss?

My boss (company president) hired me 20+ years ago. He and I have had a very strong business relationship throughout. He regularly iterates that I'm one of his best & most trusted employees in the entire company. Rarely do we need to collaborate as he knows I've got my shit and my entire department's shit crackin'; he spends his time stepping on the throats of people who don't.

Mine is a mirco-manager with really obscure things yet the things you would expect he is not, likes to hear himself talk and a repeats himself a lot. A conversation that should only take 5 mins usually ends up being 30 mins

My first ever boss when I came to the mining industry at 21 would blow up over the smallest things, like my coworker saying he couldn’t work Saturday because of his kid’s birthday party when we weren’t told we were working Saturday until Friday at quitting time. But he would laugh at stuff you’d be worried about your job over. I left a dozer running all Christmas holiday, come back to work and it’s out of fuel and the batteries were dead, and I figured I’d be looking for another job and he thought it was the funniest thing he’d ever seen
 
He's a tall drink of water and above average handsome. Loves the outdoors and to fish. Good taste in music and sports as well...

i was thinking that the slowdown you mentioned in your particular business may be due to the large amount of institutional buyers here in Vegas. If they slow down (or get out altogether) your business should rebound pretty quickly
