Clark Fork.What river you on?
I got to fish The Clark once on a trip out there. Great memory. The access was primitive as hell. Getting the boat In was an adventure.Did about 10 miles. Big, wide, slow river, for the most part. Fought a nasty head wind the first four hours that required constant rowing against, or you were headed upriver.
It settled down after that, and we got into some. Caught a big cutbow too, that was pretty af. Blacker than black on top, bright orange slash, and the prettiest pink sides ya ever saw. I caught him from shore, the only time we stopped(late-start, and headwind) but didn't have a net with me, and he slipped out my shit before I could get a pic. Gorgeous fish tho, for real.
Fun stretch of river, that ended with 3 sets of rapids, the last of which being a legit Class 3. Only reason it's not a 4, is the duration/length.
7 foot swells/waves. My kids were GLOWING for a solid hour after.![]()
Missed this somehow?I got to fish The Clark once on a trip out there. Great memory. The access was primitive as hell. Getting the boat In was an adventure.
I have taken my eldest son, just turned 4, fishing probably 8-10 times now, and he catches a damn fish almost every 10-15 minutes every time we go... What the hell have I been doin wrong all these years??? lol.
Kids turning this "fishing" hobby into a "catching" hobby.
Lol oh I am enjoying it! My biggest fear is that he'll take the disappointment of not catching fish a little hard.Yeah but that is the best kind of fishing right there!
Enjoy it Face, cause sooner or later they grow up to be giant teenagers and start going fishing without you.
Though they still fight early in the mornings loading up the boats on who's going to use the little spiderman pole for panfish...

Don't you talk down the most noble and best tasting fish on the planet.Caught a nice, fat 9 inch bluegill yesterday morning. No picture though because well...it's a bluegill.

I hear ya. It's the hunt to find the bulls that I like. They don't get big by being dumb. Not questioning their taste, but I don't go fishing for bluegill. To me, I'd rather go after bass or walleye for the fight they put up plus there's more effort involved. Around here I can just drop a nightcrawler in the water and catch bluegill. Even Crappie take a little more effort and are harder to come by around here.
I hear ya and catching shellcracker on ultralight gear or a breambuster is fun too.I hear ya. It's the hunt to find the bulls that I like. They don't get big by being dumb.
