If you were the Czar of College Football...........

1. Conference alignment into 6 neat conferences - ideally 10 teams each.
2. Remove the G5 and force them into their own league
3. 6 Conference champs get auto bids to a playoff, 2 at large bids decided by BCS rankings (best two non champ teams)
-"BCS bowls" would have historic conference tie ins put back in place so the Rose is always the P12 champ playing the B10 champ in the Rose
4. Conference championship games would go away, teams play full round-robin schedules. 9 game schedule + 3 OOC games within only the other 6 power conferences.
5. Ban Ohio State

1.Eliminate targetting and illegal blind side block penalties. It's a collision sport, there are risks, play it or don't.

2. Conference realignment... we're coming home baby!!!

3. remove scheduling from the schools.

I have been over this a bunch and I always post the same video.... basically this - minus the uniform and recruiting nonsense. Would really want the conference realignment and the scheduling to be done this way.

And 4. 16 team playoff.

I’m not a huge college football fan these days. Though I will say some of these changes would greatly increase my interest.

I watched the video and I like the regional alignment of seven conferences. It does make much more sense.

I would standardize the scheduling between conferences by...

1 Eliminating divisions, the top two records in each conference play in the CCG
2 For 14 team conferences, you play 8 conference games. Each team has 3 permanent “rivals” and the remaining 10 teams are in two pools of 5 that alternate every other year. Also you are required to play

12 team conferences also 8 conference games and you get two permanent rivals and the remaining 9 teams get split up into three pools and they play two pools per year. They are required to play two P5 opponents per year in non conference play. Notre Dame counts as a P5.

10 team conferences play a round robin every year. They are required to play one one P5 opponent in non-conference play.

3 No playing FCS opponents
im not sure the math works here the way you want it to.

Which one?

14 teams plays 3 rivals and 5 from one pool= 8 2 P5 =10 and 2 G5 = 12
12 teams plays 2 rivals plus 3 from pool A and from pool B =8
They would each play 2 P5 opponents takes them to 10, and then two G5, takes them to 12 games

10 teams play all 9 in conference= 9, one P5= 10, two G5=12

where is my math off?

i feel like by giving them permanent rivals that at some point some of the cycling isnt going to work out. I could be wrong

Let’s use Michigan as an example
Permanent rivals MSU, OSU, and Minnesota
Odd years Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Rutgers, Penn State
Even years Nebraska, NW, Purdue, Maryland, Wisconsin.

eventually you could rotate the rivalry games or the pools but it allows every player to play each who stays 4 years, to play at each stadium and play each team at least twice.

For Oregon
Rivals OrSU, Washington
Pool A USC, Colorado, ASU
Pool B Arizona, Utah, UCLA
Pool C WSU, Stanford, Cal

i get what you are saying but my brain feels like the logistics of it all there would be a spot where it doesnt work.

its easy to see it for 1 team

I think the other piece is that all teams have to be a rival a certain number of times.

I mean, I just used the term “rival” to note that they are permanent games and not the rotating teams. It doesn’t have to be teams they really consider a Rival.

I'd take a close look and re-align the Conferences which has been discussed many times here.

I, like @Wild Turkey , would keep Targeting as we can't have these guys not being able to function in society at 30-40 because of the serious amount of concussion they would get.

One thing I would implement, is make it illegal to offer more scholarships than you have. Alabama and many schools do this practice (although I heard Clemson does not, so kudos to Dabo).

I would find a system where players get paid for jersey sales and ads and whatnot. It seems only fair to me that these kids should be getting more (legal) money. Yes, they are going to school for free, but they are also forced to go to College is they ever want to go to the NFL, so it's not as simple to me as people make it out to be.

I would deem it illegal to have anything but a green, grass (or turf) field. Sorry BSU and EMU, but that shit is stupid.

I would deem it illegal to bring cow bells to game...sorry Miss State, but that shit is stupid.

I would find ways to make the games 3 hours max. This might be cutting halftime down a little, but really it would mean when Team A scores a TD and then kicks the PAT, we don't cut to commercial only to come back, have Team A kick off, and go right back to commercial. I'd have to sit down with a time to find out how to get games at 3 hours.

I would bring back traditional rivalries like Nebraska vs Oklahoma.

So no OT then?

What would the first change or couple of changes you would make?

I would have put a rule in about games that are cancelled or postponed because of the virus. Why should a team that is doing everything right be penalized if a game can't be played? The team that could have played gets a W. The team that could not play because they had too many missing players gets a L. If the game is eventually played, the results would be either left the same or changed depending on who won the game.
x factor GIF

First change would be requiring all female cheerleaders to wear translucent spanx.

No, still OT, but I wouldn't use those stats against my ongoing mission to make CFB games at or less than 3 hours long.
commercial breaks like you said but also time of reviews would need to be looked at.

Agree. I understand some are hard to to see, but there has to be a faster way to make the call.
