Everyone hyping him up as the next Luck, Manning,or Elway is going disappointed and IMO their is serious potential he is a bust. And I think Uiagaleilei is going to be MUCH MUCH better than him.

If I’m wrong I’m wrong and I will eventually own it but these people like Cowherd saying he is guaranteed HOFer are fucking blind

It’s Bryce Young now. Dude literally can’t play without Williams and Metchie. Can’t play with freshmen receivers all the while 3 different freshmen scored TDs for UGA in the 4th quarter

The media has hyped him up as God because of one game against Alabama where Alabama got ZERO pressure on him and his recievers made circus catches all night.

He has all the measurable aspects and talent but The truth is IMO that he isn’t consistently accurate and I’ve never really been impressed with him and he isn’t half the QB Watson was in college.

It's funny, I've been saying that about that game for years. He had the one long run, and his WRs played crazy. That and Clemson front 7 was unreal that year. Having said all that, he has the physical tools ... I question if he has it in the head and the competitive drive to be great. QBs like Brady, Rogers, etc. - the great ones - have a mental edge that puts their skills over the top. I think Lawrence has the tools ... I am not sure he has the drive to be the best.

Nah, that's not it ... if you compare Young's numbers that reflect on him from last year and this year they are almost identical. It's surprising but true. Bama's problems are more that their WRs aren't the breakaway guys they got used to, and their D has taken a small step back since Smart left. That's why the overall team stats are lower, but Young is still doing what he does well.

They are really a victim - if you can call being a top 5 team a victim - of their success. Coaches leaving all the time, expectations sky high, getting everyone's best shot every weekend.

I will agree that competitive drive and having overall confidents in your game is huge for players translating to the next level but I also think it's impossible to gauge without getting to know these players in person. For TL, IMO he has all the tools you would want in a QB but the thing he's needs to improve is consistency if he wants to last long in the NFL. In college and in his first year in the NFL, there were a good bit of times where he misses relatively open WRs. 8 out of 10 he throws a good ball but hitting 80% of the layups is not going to cut it in the NFL. I think he's improving but I also haven't been keeping up with the NFL this season

Let's also not forget he went to a losing team with one of the worst coaching debacles in the history of the NFL. I am with you on the tools, contrary to what OP is saying, and I hope he gets the mental aspect of it. Better players around him, and good coaching will be key.

Dunno.

But he’s not that good. At least Deshaun good

Are you fucking outta your mind???

Yeah, there are so many overhyped QBs compared to Trevor Lawrence.

Lawrence at least is playing on Sundays.

Jason White and Eric Crouch stand out as two overrated QBs that won the Heisman. Both didn't do jack in NFL.

Ryan Leaf was another one. You also got Jamarcus Russell.

White had like 10,000 knee injuries and Crouch just sucked and was more of a reciever/RB than QB.

Barrett was undrafted. Not sure how that is overrated. He was a good colllege QB but he had lots of limitations.
You’re quoting a message nearly two years old.

But he was considered a good college QB, but he was terrible. Overrated bum

Christian Hackenberg (he had a fine freshman year, but was rather mediocre after that. Yeah PSU's OL was bad, but it was also poor accuracy and decision making.)
Josh Rosen (a good college QB, but there was a lot more hype around him than Hundley and Hundley had better numbers)

I was just looking at a thread on the main page.

He was a good college QB. His record shows that. Limitations and was no good for NFL but you dont have to be a good NFL QB to be a good college QB.

He was shit. OSU doesn’t win it all in 2014 if Barrett doesn’t get hurt

If we are going by NFL failure Tebow has to be up there

OSU doesnt get there at all if Jones was the starter the whole year. J.T. got them there. He lost 6 games in 4 years and over 12k years. Pretty good even if a troll cant see that.
