It's being reported that Jaden Rashada ...

1) There’s no way that happened

2) Even if they did, there’s gonna be no way to sue anyone without a contract. And Miami would be really stupid to put a pay for play contract in writing considering that’s against the NCAA rules
What is the NCAA going to do about it? Punish Texas Southern?

Contract was signed with the nil group not the school anyway...ncaa is toothless

It still can’t include language about signing with a specific school.

I'm just trying to help you, so you don't continue to make yourself look so foolish. Because the story you are trying to pass off is utterly ridiculous.

But hey -- you are a florida fan, so you are used to the utterly ridiculous with so many of the headlines coming out of the that state, so maybe you do believe it.
What he is saying is exactly what is being reported as what happened and makes the most sense of all the explanations that have been floated. Let's see if I can explain the legality a little better:

- Miami offered $6 million in NIL.
- It appears that UF countered with $7 million.
- But in the contract, there was some language where UF agreed to indemnify Rashada if Miami sued him for $ 6 million. Hence, the value of the contract could have been as high as $13 million but wasn't for $13 million.
- It is highly improbable that there is anything to sue for - it's not like they gave him $6 million upfront.
- But, as someone who has read contracts and advised clients on the legality of said contracts, if there is even an iota of a chance that you would be on tap for the extra $6 million, you don't sign the contract. Some idiot didn't ready it closely enough or didn't understand what they read. You simply don't take that chance.
- Once the UF collective realized what had been signed, they tried to renegotiate, and Rashada said no. So UF canceled the contract.

This is the most likely reason for the $13 million number that has been reported. No one is paying any QB $13 million upfront, and you don't counter $6 million with $13 million.

I hope miami sues him which is where 6 of 13 million he was extorting from florida was suppose to cover....
The school is telling on itself if it sues. The collective, maybe but school should not have any standing here. Not without violating even the very rudimentary NIL rules.

Per the Athletic.

Rashada signed the NIL contract that day. It called for a $500,000 up-front payment. After that, his payments would increase from $250,000 a month as a freshman, to $291,666.66 a month as a sophomore, to $375,000 a month as a junior, rounded out with $195,833.33 monthly payments as a senior, so long as he fulfilled the following obligations:
  • Residence in Gainesville, Fla.
  • At least one branded Twitter post and one branded Instagram post per month.
  • Up to eight fan engagement events per year. These could include in-person appearances, social media engagements, video conferences or interviews. None would last longer than two hours.
  • Autograph up to 15 pieces of merchandise per year.
Sheesh.

FYI ... evidently this was a total rumor.
