Movie - Netflix

Beast with no nation.

Well done. Story about a boy growing up in africa. Waring gangs...the government...it's sometimes hard to tell who is who ... the boy's family is killed and he escapes into the bush to only be captured by a civilian resistance force who take him in.

Idris Elba did a great job as the commander of the resistance force.

Twisters 8/10

Everything you would want in a tornado movie

Except for flying Cows. You had one job
That chick was the bad guy. For real. She’s just bad at every turn.

The Pope of Greenwich Village
Tubi
4/10
What the fuck did I just see? A farce? A comedy drama? A dark comedy? An absurd art film? Uhhhh what?

The Little Things on Netflix
1/10
It was bad. Like zero redeeming qualities. They tried to get fancy with it by just not telling any background and then trying to spoonfeed it throughout the movie until the big reveal at the end. But it was so fucking confusing and boring that by the time we got to the "oh, that's why" moment I was just pissed off and ready to shut it off.

Acting wasn't good (and big name actors - Denzel, Rami Malek, Jared Leto, Natalie Morales)
writing wasn't good
storyline wasn't good

Just a confusing mashup of a VERY tired "exiled cop" storyline, trying to make it artsy.

Just rewatched them both, they are ok. The TV show is much better, that guy is more believable as a bad ass than Tiny Tom Cruise.
Yeah, Lee child had to axe Cruise because his fans were getting on his case. A big part of what made Reacher, Reacher was the fact that he was huge. All the books played that fact up. While I like Cruise, he's "Mini Me" compared to Ritchson. Cruise is the better actor of the two, but Ritchson is the better Reacher.

Yeah , I was severely disappointed in this one when I watched it a while back. I assumed with great actors like Denzel, Malek, and Leto it would be top notch, it was definitely not. Seems like something that was originally going to be a Hallmark or True Crime TV movie, then they decided to put big name actors in it.

Yeah, I like Tom Cruise, and he's great in things like Mission Impossible etc, but was never believable as Reacher. I get they needed a big name for the movie, but they would have been better off with someone like Chris Hemsworth, as he's at least a pretty decent sized guy.

It is my understanding that Cruise was the driver of getting Reacher made, and that he wanted to play the character. Casting TC was never a decision, it was a from-the-start condition.

Sleeping Dogs on HULU. Maybe a 6.8.

I was looking forward to this one. Slower than I thought it would be. Not horrible. A lot of different "goings ons" at the end. Seemed a little scattered then. Except for the very end.

The Killer (2024) - Just started this and before the opening credits say Directed by John Woo, we have a bunch of doves flying inside a church. May have to pause until the juice store opens up and turn this into a drinking game.

Not a movie but Bad Monkey with Vinny Vaughn is pretty decent. Based on a Carl Hiaasen novel of the same name. Whacky Florida humour.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Kingdom
3/10
26 minutes left in the movie until the big thing that’s supposed to happen happens. No one in the production knew what to do with the characters. Poor boring misplaced humor. It didn’t get a 2 from me because the production value wasn’t shit. I guess. Waste of time.

Godzilla Minus One
7.5
Just a really well put together movie. Even the maudlin stuff is done well. You’re always invested. It’s shot beautifully.

The Beekeeper
6.4/10
I am not usually a huge fan of over the top action movies where one guy can fight his way out of 2,458 men, especially when most of them are trained elite specialists that act like they can't fire an automatic weapon and hit a person. However, the fight scenes were top notch, and the cast was pretty good also. Oh yeah, and the fact that I had insomnia for the second night in a row and had to have something to watch.

Anyone But You -- 5

Glen Powell is very tasty, but he's a terrible actor.

We are simply running out of things to watch on Netflix.

Yeah that one wasn't bad for free. Pretty much like every other Jason Stathom movie.
