Lions Favs Trade For Lamar Jackson

Him personally? Not as of yet. But there have been several. Last week was Aaron Maybin.
who the fuck is Aaron Maybin?

you guys love the drama too much.

Well, you do. It's why you're here posting replies.

I have friends who are Ravens fans so I do have an interest in what happens to his career.

but I think it's ridiculous that ford is already bitching about something that hasn't happened

Wouldn't say he's bitching, more just predicting. Mike Florio (Pro Football Talk), Dan Le Batard, Dez Bryant, Aaron Maybin, and other media personalities have called the Ravens racist, the NFL racist, the owners racist, etc. Considering 4 of the top 5 and 5 of the top 9 highest paid QBs are black, it just gets exhausting listening to the narrative.

There's a very, very short list of guys I'd go for if I'm Detroit just based on salary expectations and trade compensation, and basically all of them aren't available in a trade right now.

They have a great thing going with Goff at QB. They were a top 5 offense last year both in yards and PPG. Clearly the issue is defense, so why go out and address a position that isn't a problem by mortgaging the future? I could easily see them winning the division this season if they don't do something stupid.
What is the solution at RB after letting Jamal walk? Swift can more than make up for his production if he could just stay healthy.

Which is why I laid out what the next steps will be, not what has already happened.
And I'll be right. And I'll remind you when I am.

an initial search tells me that the groundwork has already been laid for it by Jackson himself back in 2022.

I was unaware of any pay difference between black QBs and white QBs however there is a difference in what kind of contracts are awarded based on the style of play.

and I am sure that Jackson sitting out during the playoffs this year didn't give Baltimore a warm fuzzy feeling towards offering him a long term deal that he wants.

Is this you already walking back your eye roll at my prediction of what will happen? Yes, Lamar already tiptoed around this topic last year, laying the groundwork.
What I said will happen is going to happen, with probably the exception of retiring. Although it isn't out of the question, he has shown he is willing to sit out to force people to do what he wants.

They signed David Montgomery from Chicago. More or less a younger version of Williams. I'd also bet they'll use a mid-round pick on another RB since you can probably plan on Swift missing a chunk of time.

not walking it back, just saying I see where you are coming from.

It's a start I guess. I'm not just making BS up to troll (this time). Everything I said he would do has been said by him or others, and done by others (looking at Kaep).

Last year, Goff was by every statistical metric a top 6-7 QB in the league. He's 28 years old, is a former top pick, has 2 more years left on a wildly team friendly contract number by today's standards, and has an extremely limited injury history. It would be a monumental failure for them to move away from him.

This is beyond hilarious. I love stat geeks

The Lions started 1-6 in 2022. This with a last place schedule. Sure they closed hard but Goff aka the prevent killer is far from who you want once you get to the playoffs.

it would be a monumental failure to roll with Goff and hope he’s the answer

I'd 100% roll with him for at least this next year, maybe two years. It is a good contract and he isn't going to bitch about wanting more short of a SB run. But he can lead while they draft the replacement this year and give him at least 1, preferably 2, solid years to learn.

2018 playoffs Rams played 3 games including the Super Bowl.

Stat geeks—
Go look how many TDs Goff threw in those 3 games.

With Goff the Lions maybe get into the playoffs next year with a NON LAST PLACE schedule. Even if they do he ain’t getting it done against solid defense unless you have a helluva running game and defense.

@broncosmitty how is that Lions secondary looking? Needs more pieces or can they make a big 180? They need some DTs too?

If you are wanting just a possible playoff appearance and then some stinkers sure. Groom the next QB under him. And keep building the defense. I can dig that

Interesting cherry picking there but it doesn't prove your point in the slightest.

First off, the "last place schedule" featured 10 playoff teams. That's an ignorant way to look at it since it doesn't take into account what the teams are actually going to do in 2022, you dunce. It ended up being basically dead in the middle of SOS rankings for the season.

In those 6 losses, the Lions lost games where they scored 45, 35, 27, and 24 points. He looked like shit at Dallas & NE, no doubt. He also sliced up a Washington defense that was 3rd in YPG and 7th in PPG allowed. In losses vs Seattle and Philadelphia, he threw for nearly 600 yards with 6 TDs and 2 INTs combined, and before you try saying "GaRbAgE tImE", those were both one possession games through the 4th quarter.

I know you don't like him since he doesn't play for you anymore, but anything else you wanna try and throw out?

Maybe the Rams coaches just sucked?

Lamar has officially asked for a trade because Ravens won't give him the contract the thinks he deserves. Next up we hear about NFL collusion because no one will give him the contract he thinks he deserves. Final step is to retire and claim racism as why he was colluded against because no one would pay him what he thinks he is worth.
the NFL's systemic racism policy is no joking matter.

Lol at you thinking this is just me. You do realize Brad Holmes the GM has been with Goff for a long time?

The Eagles Lions game a 1 Possession game? Dude the Lions were down 24-14 at halftime with a Goff pick 6. Lions Down 38-21 at the end of 3. Lions score 14 points in Q4. Vintage Goff

Stat geeks  wow

Guy won the MVP in his 2nd year and feel like he's been on a downward trajectory ever since. People say get him some weapons, his best WR requesting a trade isn't exactly a great look for a QB.
