Lions Favs Trade For Lamar Jackson

well, you're being stupid about your hypothetical situation then. made up deal, but is it legit. that said. commanders have some legit talent at WR, could have a decent defense if chase is healthy and is what he can be, that said and again, i don't think lamar is that guy.
I never said "made up deal". I said if the offer was coming from Dan Snyder but nobody else in the FO was involved I'd be skeptical of it being legit since everyone knows what's going on with him.

I don't disagree with the second part though. Washington is a good QB away from contending in the NFC East, but Lamar isn't gonna be the guy long-term for what they'll have to give up for him.

probably hurts the teams evaluation as he's selling. let's be honest, Lamar isn't that guy. I think everyone knows it.
Could take it off the bid. I mean 300 mill is a significant number but to a billionaire getting more billions while allowing him to give the finger to people forcing him out it my be worth it. I do agree Lamar isn’t that guy.

It'd be very bizarre for an owner to go straight to a player and offer a contract. If I'm Lamar in that situation, I'm gonna be super skeptical since everyone know what's happening with Snyder.
I think given the situation around both, I’d sign it if I was jackson. Skins have some talent there.

Dan Patrick asked this and I don’t think it was ever answered but why doesn’t Dan Snyder who is said to be forced selling the team sign Lamar to like an outrageous (50 mill for 6 years) deal fully garunteed to fuck the other owners as a parting gift?

I understand it’d cost the organization 2 firsts but this would be a shot across the bow as he’s walking out the door.
As part of initial negotiations there will be something in there about not making wholesale changes while bids are being submitted. And the NFL office could void the contract since it was signed in bad faith during the sale

If it's an actual good faith offer, yeah absolutely I would if I were him. They may have more talent there than Baltimore honestly.

Oh it got to a 3 point game from 38-21 at the end of the 3rd. No prevent was played!! Besides the fact that Goff only had 1 completion over 15 yards in the entire 4th.

LMAO I’m sure the eagles were terrified especially with Goff at the helm picking them apart with check downs.

Difficult to have a Goff “agenda” when you trade him and win the whole thing the next year. Thanks Jared!

And good for you for finally disowning the Browns!!

If You need to see the ring we got for trading Goff let me know.

As an Eagles fan, we didn't play prevent in that game. Once it got to 38-21, Goff had 3 completions over 20+ yards. Two of them were 20+ in the air too. When it got to 38-28, we were actively blitzing LB's. Goff played fine that game. Certainly wasn't the reason they lost.

It really was a great game. I was shocked Detroit played as well as they did.

I'd 100% roll with him for at least this next year, maybe two years. It is a good contract and he isn't going to bitch about wanting more short of a SB run. But he can lead while they draft the replacement this year and give him at least 1, preferably 2, solid years to learn.
This.

Yeah, it was a great game. If anything, it was the Eagles offense that went conservative towards the end not the defense. Our defense was inconsistent. Some games played great, some games played awful(2nd Dallas game, this Lions game, 2nd Commanders game, Packers etc..) We could be overwhelming at times, but other times were very avg, like this game. Ultimately it cost us the SB.

What're your thoughts with the losses on the defensive side of the ball?

They are happy rolling with Howell and Brissett.

LOL.
They're in an odd spot. They're not going to be bad enough to be able to get Caleb Williams or Drake Maye, but they likely won't be a major contender. That said, if they think they may have something with Howell, they could do a whole lot worse than Brissett in the meantime.

I think losing Hargrave and Johnson Gardner are pretty big losses. Hopefully Jordan Davis can step up and live up to his 1st round potential. Our DLine is old AF, so we need to find some youth there. We've got two firsts this year, so I'd like us to go with a DE and then either a LB or Safety with those picks. The offense should be great again given everything that returns. I don't think we will be as good. The coaching staff changes have me worried too. Alot of inexperience after Sirianni.

They play in the NFC East.....very competitive.....they should shoot their shot with Jackson IMO.

Yeah you have some great draft capital there in the first round. Even in the late second, I feel like this is a fairly deep DL draft. I'm big on Isaiah Foskey and it's looking like that'll be around where he gets grabbed. I'm guessing you're not a fan of Bijan at 10?

Oh sure, if he's healthy he's an obvious upgrade. They also have plenty for him to work with. Bad thing for him, though, is going from the 2nd best OL in the league to one ranked in the bottom 5-10.

I'd be okay with getting Bijan with our later 1st round pick(doubt he'll be available), but not at 10. I'd also be okay riding with Gainwell, Scott and Penny at RB for next year. I think Gainwell could break out with more carries.

Yeah, I'm just wanting to shore up the defense. Our offense should still be very good. I think Sanders is the only starter we've lost.

I thought you also lost a guard? That Isaac dude. I wanted him on the Bears.

Bijan at 10 would be early for sure, but I don't think it's such a hot take to think having him last year would've beaten the Chiefs. You guys got nothing from the RBs that game on the ground. Bijan is just a different level over even Sanders, IMO.

Oh shit we did lose Seumalo. Forgot about that. I don't think losing him is that big of a deal. Guards are pretty replaceable IMO, especially given our history of having good line play. I wonder if we'll try and slide Jurgens over to G now that Kelce is returning. Might make sense and he was a 2nd round pick last year at C.

Yeah, we didn't get anything from our RB's in the SB, pretty much was Hurts on the ground game. I just hate spending a pick that high on a RB, when we have other needs. Nothing against him, he's a stud, but I just don't think that'd be top priority.

There are few teams in the NFL that have the luxury of taking a RB in the first round, in that they're just that well-rounded. On the flipside, the best time to have a RB is when they are on a rookie contract. First round gives you at least 5 years of them, and it's likely their best 5. I'd agree, 10 is too high, but I'd absolutely grab him in the late teens if I can. I know it wasn't the only reason, but I look at what a finally-heathy Saquon did for the Giants' offense last year. Bijan seems to be that sort of gamechanger at the position, so it'll be interesting to see where he goes.
