It was a shit sandwich. But, this is absolutely a top five example of what not to do as a reporter. Not sure what the hell he was thinking.

He kind of needs owners and FO people to talk to him. That won’t be an easy thing now.

Yeah, I actually just read this too. Apparently the dude was a scab years back as well. And if it is true, to what extent even?

just the owners rounding up their boys to try and smear anyone not reporting on the lockout with the narrative they want. I would think his articles themselves would be imploring the players not to take the deal, no reason to do it on an individual basis.

It's a pretty dumb thing to do, IF it's actually true. But in today's day and age, it probably wouldn't really impact him. Most journalists from any sport these days, its about getting buddy-buddy with the players so you can get close and write puff pieces. Being a "players advocate" would probably help in the long run.

Jon Heyman has been the best example of this. He's been boot licking the entire lockout. No surprise tho after Rosenthal was let go from the MLB network for criticizing Manfred.

I haven’t followed this at all and I’d prefer to do as little work as possible to figure it out, so is there some specific things that are known that are holding it up?

For real, you’re a major league player and they’re giving you a half of a field sized hole to hit at. Deal with it, make them stop doing it.
 
I can't wait to watch MLB try to enforce banning the shift.

Are we going to the replay review if a guy inadvertently lines up too far off? Pull out the yard stick? Let's just go full sarcastaball and draw circle in the dirt and tell players not to leave those.
