Mock Drafts : Chat

Point is his final number will not be $4

Well of course but adding current players adds an extra factor. Tricky in a cap draft but eliminating all or most of current players in most drafts gets kinda old. Plain and simple, the voting needs to be more thought out. There needs to be balance between the eras...that is very hard to judge so I get why current players are restricted at times but it's nice to add a wrinkle here and there.

There are great players being drafted that right now have say a $4 cap but when they retire their cap hit could be $9. Youb are not paying the full cost for these top players of today, I am honestly amazed nobody else has a problem with this.

I agree current players to save money sucks... I think it is pretty much cheating... I agree it needs to be mitigated... but to say no current players just because of that is silly too IMO...

I think with a 100 game minimup, and a current player fee of either 1 or 2 PBs, should be enough....

in my proposal he would be 5... not 4...
I didn't see the last part. I think we could even take a bigger step in raising current players salaries. Add an extra $1 for every All-Pro.

So Hopkins would be $7:

Pro Bowls - $4
All-Pros - $3

Add an AP fee too. Simple and cuts out the "cheating"

It's not a wrinkle, it's a way to cheat the restriction.

No, I agree. Their cap should be raised in every draft that isn't a CURRENT PLAYERS ONLY

Not a fan of the ALL-Pro addition... unless you only want to add it onto current players...

I don't think that works, we aren't adding All Pro money to retired players, point is it should be a level playing field and current players do not allow for that.

Of course there are going to be players that will cheat the system but look at Randy Moss. He cheats the system every single draft even at #1

JJ Watt would be $10
Rodgers also $10

These are more realistic numbers in my mind

This is only a fix to current players, not retired players.

Peyton will still be $14, not $21

Thing is I think this is even more a problem in an NBA draft, less players drafted means the cheat has a bigger effect than MLB or NFL.

How is this not a PERFECT fix? Add All Pros to the cap number for current players only. Adding $1 to a salary is not doing much, this makes value a little closer to retired players' value

Well of course it is a huge problem for NBA...but in the current draft we are doing it is unlike any draft we have ever done. We could try it again with different rules, maybe increase cap and add a fee to current players or something, up the minimum games...rules can be altered

I have not drafted a current player and won't. Guess I lose! lolzzz

its not a great fix, especially for the current players at the end of their careers...

Because it's not a real number.

Every player declines at the end of their career...like I said, not every player will be fair but you have the same case with retired players. Randy Moss, Lester Hayes, Mel Blount, etc.

Nothing is fair!
