Mock Drafts : Chat

Do we have an idea for MLB yet?

Even year MLB draft.

I'm kinda in the mood for a cap draft.
How about an open draft with a baseline.
9 starters...1800 HR limit(200/guy), meaning you can take two 500 HR guys but you have 800 left for other 7.
Or average instead of HR. 9 staters can't exceed an average of .290. (290×9=2610). So if you take two .350 average guys your left with 1910 for the other 7(.273 average each)

With pitchers we could make up the same formula with wins, saves. ERA or ave. Losses(like 5 had to combine for 1000 losses, etc)

It's a way to play open without the AS deal

The only issue would be, would @Pack 500 draft any eligible players?

Nah, i'm playin. We did something like this in the last year or so, I think I liked it. I think we used wins and saves.

🤔

Baseball time!

We have listed a couple of good ideas already, how about an open Decade draft where you have to take 2 players who started their career in that decade. 2 each from:

1900-09
10-19
20-29
30-39
40-49
50-59
60-69
70-79
80-89

Whatever y'all decide works for me.

NFL Current Cap draft or if you don’t want to do a current we can do a cap with a year restriction

The latter for me.

I had an idea that we have never done that I thought would be really fun. You take a starting position group from a specific team and year. You can only use a team once

Example...1994 Cowboys Backs, you get Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Moose Johnston.

1 set of Backs(QB, HB, FB)
2 sets of Receivers(2WR, 1 TE) so you end up 4/2
1 set of OT's
1 set of interior OL(C, 2 G)
1 set Interior front 7(2 DT and MLB or 1 NT and 2 ILB)
1 set of DE(2 DE)
1 set OLB's(2 OLB)
2 sets of CB(2 CB) 4 total
1 set of safeties

11 round draft. Open years, having to take a group from same team is sort of a cap, hard to find HOF sets

I think y'all need to do this one, this is like the fourth time Troy has thrown a variation of this draft idea out there.

I know I'm in the extreme minority that actually likes current drafts. I don't spend enough time evaluating NFL defensive players and offensive linemen because they aren't in fantasy.

Yeah current OL and defensive players are difficult to evaluate other than the great or elite players imo.

We should have done an NFL draft like the NBA draft where y'all sent me a player you wanted and if no one else axed for that player you got him. Would have been way more work for me but it would have been pretty cool to see everyone's strategy, especially in the early rounds.

Here's another draft idea that I've done on the other board where Mookie and Hall draft as well. You're given each team from each conference in a league. So for the NFL we'd do 12 from each conference, there'd be no buckets, the 12 teams would be pre determined. As long as the player played a season (Or 16 games) with the team he's good. Just an idea I had but one I hope is considered. I do like other ideas mentioned here as well.

We should do that one time
