The only thing that makes sense is that he got it in the contract that they can't come back on him for his involvement in the Stallions mess. Now that they have the NOA, they were finally able to work through that language.

I have to imagine the full contract will be available and published shortly. We'll know if there's any unusual language about NCAA investigations in it (beyond the typical, you can get fired for NCAA violations stuff that's always in them)

Do they make the entire language of these contracts public? Honest question. I know compensation details are made public but I don't recall ever seeing someone's full contract on display.

IMO this contract is nothing more than window dressing to try to calm down all the boosters who got pissed when they found out they were lied to about Moore being under contract in the first place. He can still be fired lickity split

I could see that being the case.

Also, was any explanation given for the picture of Moore from back in January sitting at a table with papers and a pen when they announced he got the job? What the hell was that?

So I did see Warde point out that we were doing a basketball coaching search, dealing with the NCAA shit, and then our major clothing retailer was a mess and bailing on royalty checks. So it is just possible that there was a lot going on in the AD and it took a while to get things sorted out for the football coach; a lower priority having a MOU already signed?

If it was that, why lie about it and put on a grand show like they actually signed him to a contract?

Or Moore was looking for something else and signed real quick after underperforming two weeks in a row lol

I think it's much more likely what I said. To try to appease the boosters who got pissed that they were lied to about the contract. If Moore gets caught up in the coming NCAA stuff they can still fire him.

I don't understand this, lied to? The MOU is a contract -- it isn't the full contract.
 
You'll note, what the AD shared in January literally says "memorandum of understanding" at the top of what they signed and shared out to everyone


But it does set the timeline for this at 90 days; which they obviously didn't hit. So he's been working under this expired agreement since late April.

Who the hell agrees to a job but only signs an MOU? Why would they post pictures of him just signing an MOU and not mention that it wasn't the actual contract? Also how did they miss their 90 day deadline by over 4 months? It really makes no difference to non-michigan fans, but I'd be awful uneasy with this process. Then again you guys hate your AD for a reason.
