Music group/artist you stumbled onto and now really dig

When in HS during the 90's I thought Pearl Jam was the greatest thing ever. Couldn't stand Nirvana. Now its completely the opposite
I still love me some Pearl Jam, but I don't think I've bought an album of theirs since "No Code". Every once in a while a song of theirs hooks me in, but I'm not going out of my way to listen to their new stuff.

Pearl Jam have Cubs schlong in their mouths and I'm still petty enough to dislike them for this. Nirvana is indeed very good. Getting back to Audioslave, give me RATM any day.

fucking Gypsy kills me in thissun

Same thing with Zeppelin. Local station always did a "get the lead out" at 7. I always thought their songs were way too long. But later I started getting interested through their more blues based stuff

311 is godawful

Yeah, but going along got me some good poon.

Same here with that shitty as Grateful Dead. I hated their sing-songy style, but the chick I was banging loved it and put them on every time we fucked. It was like intense pleasure while hearing someone scratch a chalkboard.

I never liked Pearl Jam but I did once buy a Stone Temple Pilots cassette

Good for your Pops. I am pretty sure he is much older than me. I was born in '75

I was born in '76. Don't be mad that my Dad is cooler than yours.

I was born in '77. My dad listened to the likes of KISS, Van Halen, Queen and Frank Zappa; but he was still in high school when I was born. Of course, his parents thought that was the devil's music and hated it.

When I was in high school, I fucking hated Pearl Jam and didn't like Nirvana much either. I've warmed to Nirvana since, but still have always hated Pearl Jam. I listened to the likes of Too $hort, Wu-Tang and Outkast in high school. Of course, my parents thought that was the devil's music and hated it.

Some bands I was either a little late to the party on, and some I feel just deserve more notoriety...

Cherubs
Helious Creed
King Buffalo
Swans
Pelican
The Sword
TV on the Radio

Ten is a hell of an album. IMO, none of Nirvana's albums touch that.

I like both bands, but if I had to vote one off the island, it'd be Nirvana.

Nirvana is overrated, sure, but Pearl Jam sucks. Ten does not hold up over the years imo.

I always hated how back then, people argued that STP "copied" PJ. STP is infinitely better than PJ imho.
