Give'em hell!
Am I the first to use this in this thread?
Win or lose, the drunker I get tonight, the more I post it.
Pops will be calling for my ban before this night is out.![]()
I swear I thought the exact same deal. This feels like a jinx.
I'll probably be snoring halfway through the 3rd.Give'em hell!
Different styles. Michigan's run game is more power and counter, under center with more big bodies than most teams run. Oregon spreads you out and runs a ton of RPO.
I wouldn't say you don't have to worry about getting beaten down field, it's just a different way of getting there. Michigan will suck in the defense if their run game is effective. Then their TEs or WRs can torch you over the top or with deep posts/corners off play action.
Comes down to you just gotta win on first down. When Michigan stays ahead of the chains, they're really hard to get off the field.
IRREGARDLESSIt wasnt. It was made this morning just after midnight. Are you getting your math skills from @moxie ?
Washington's offense is gonna have to be about perfect to win. A couple of 3 and outs and having to play from behind all game with Michigan grinding out methodical drives gassing the defense at 4/5 yards a clip, it would be a hard hole to get out of. Especially late in the game when Washington's defense just has nothing left in the tank.
That's the game I don't want to see play out. I don't think McCarthy is that great, but he's really efficient when the offense can control the pace.
Counter argument is if Washington can get up by a few scores early, it might force Michigan to open things up on offense. And in that scenario, I can see some errors coming from McCarthy.
McCarthy is good enough when he has all day to throw or guys are running wide open. Under pressure and against tight coverage he's not very good though overall. Totally agree that Michigan does not want the game to sit on his shoulders, Washington is probably going to have to sell out against the run though so the guys running wide open option I feel is going to be there.
Also wonder how many stupid ass trick plays Michigan has in hand for this one. They got so fucking lucky against Bama that a couple of them werent total back breaking disasters. That god damn 1 handed prayer catch by McCarthy to save a fumble on that throwback was some of the luckiest shit, guy makes that catch maybe 1 in 100 chances and of course he caught it there.
