Need to go to the SEC or B1G

SEC needs to tell Oklahoma and Texas to stay put, give Missouri back to the Big 12 and kick Mississippi State to the curb.

Go back to 12 teams, but still keep the Texas footprint

I'm not against taking Oregon. In the dark corners of my home the fellows and me have had this conversation. We appear to be in an arms race on our way to super conferences and if Oregon had a Natty they may have already got an invite.

It's better for them to come in pairs, but we could take a team away from the ACC to compensate.

But, my guess is Oregon is down the list. Right now the SEC would have to be considering Clemson & FSU first I would think. You do that and you insure the demise of the ACC and us being down to two conferences of significance.

I really think the B1G should have gone ahead and absorbed the teams on the West Coast that matter.

Grab Oregon, Washington, Stanford and then either of these four: Arizona, Cal, Colorado, or Utah.

The fourth team does seem up the air. I think the B1G wanted those three plus Notre Dame but Notre Dame isn't playing ball right now.

You get Northern California, Oregon, and Washington with these pick-ups which helps with media markets and recruiting. I know that I am going to get trolled about the $$$ but I think these teams could break even plus they expose the B1G to an even larger geographical spread and they give additional traveling buddies for UCLA and USC.
Maybe they will if it makes sense to. Probably just waiting to see how the ND situation plays out first. The benefit of being the B1G is they don't HAVE to make any moves. Nor do they feel any pressure to make quick decisions on things that will have drastic long term implications.

USC fell into their laps. No reason to make any further moves until the ripple effect plays out and the landscape becomes more clear.

Agreed.

Oregon needs to head to the SEC or B1G. I feel like we just got done with a BYE week and our next two games are vs CAL and Colorado. These games are on the same level as a BYE week. Then we get Washington, who has shown that they were just a fun September team and really are of no substance, followed by finally a legit game in Utah and then our little bro's Oregon State. Then the PAC-12 title game.

So Oregon has 2 more serious games left on the schedule with Utah and the PAC-12 title game. I guess the thing to watch for in the CAL and Colorado games are the absurd numbers Bo Nix can put up to help his Heisman campaign and the blowout wins Oregon can serve to help their CFP resume. Other than that, y.a.w.n.
"are the absurd numbers Bo Nix can put up to help his Heisman campaign"

^^ That made my day and almost made me pee my pants.

Are you on drugs? We can help find a rehab for you if you'll commit to getting clean.

At this point just grow it to 20 teams and put the original 10 in a division. Call the divisions:

OGs - Orginal Gangsters
NBs - New Bloods

Just split it up into two conferences that share revenue.

I wasn’t keen on going to 14, I flat out hate the idea of 16. I grew up with 12, that’s still what I prefer

This thread has potential. Next loss and this gets a big old bumpity bump and when Nix is left off the Heisman invite list another one?
Nix isn't even the top QB in the shitty Pac, more or less a national contender, but OD going to OD.

But we aren't in an arms race. We added two teams that were either in a state where already had a team, or a state that is bordered by three states in which we have teams. We might one day look at the ACC, but the conference has made it clear we aren't growing just to grow.

The friction costs of having your 16 teams go all the way west is absurd. Let the B1G deal with that.

Grew up.??? You trying to compete with OD for Comic Relief champ?

lol

The B1G and SEC don't want a program that isn't serious about football and a team with uniforms like Oregon's isn't serious about football.

I'd say they might as well have a blue field, but we already have a team with one and Oregon is 0-3 against them.
