Need to go to the SEC or B1G

Oregon, hell, I don't want half the teams we have now.

Which ones? This set will still be what they talk about at years end.

compared to prior Heisman winners at the same point in the season. you know since its a season award not a week 1 award.

Actually his numbers check out
You're on drugs.

I haven't watched all of Oregon's games but I have seen Bo's highlights and the majority of his yards are coming off of busted coverages or yards after catch from what I've seen. When he played a secondary with a pulse he got shot down. It's not like he is threading the needle and hitting the back shoulder on a go route.

Oh I watched way more Bo Nix games than you ever thought about so I’ve got plenty to say.

First - You’re delusional
Second - You know I’m right

So you can see that a guy who for how many years went up against the likes of Alabama, LSU, Texas AM, and other SEC defenses on a weekly basis comes to Oregon and starts to go up against the likes of Arizona, Washington State, Stanford, and other PAC defenses and doesn't see this as simply fun and playground style defenses compared to what he had at Auburn?

Bo Nix is absolutely owning this conference. His stats through the first 7 games are almost the same as Mariota's were the year Mariota won the heisman. Those numbers are only going to multiply by season's end along with the team wins.

Yes you nailed it playground defenses.

When your numbers are coming off of busted coverages and yards after catch then it’s not Heisman material performances.

For once you are right.

But we aren't in an arms race. We added two teams that were either in a state where already had a team, or a state that is bordered by three states in which we have teams. We might one day look at the ACC, but the conference has made it clear we aren't growing just to grow.

The friction costs of having your 16 teams go all the way west is absurd. Let the B1G deal with that.

That's absolutely what's happening. We're moving to a 2 super conferences model and who gets the highest quality programs within their super conference matters most at this point. This isn't about geography anymore, it's about money, resources and size of fan bases. As soon as Texas & Oklahoma came to the SEC it was confirmed we were on this road and while at first the PAC and B1G tried to feign outrage, the bigger fish eventually ate the smaller fish. This is gonna continue until we move to something that looks more like the NFC & AFC in the NFL.

It's probably gonna be a good thing too. Like how the BCS and then the playoff improved CFB, both primarily being motived by media contracts and $$$.

You said it. So, are you saying teams have a harder time winning the Heisman win they play "real" (SEC) defenses?

Bo nix games prior to Oregon dont matter in this years Heisman.
Heisman is who is the best this year not for their career.

We'll have to agree to disagree.

- There isn't a business model that show much more expansion. I wrote an article on this and posted it here. There just aren't enough teams who can add enough to the pie to afford a full share. Sankey has been crystal clear - they aren't growing to jus grow.

- The only teams that remotely move the needle - other than ND of course - are in the ACC. Their GOR pushes any expansion out 10 years, so nothing will happen until then, if it happens at all.

- I do agree that with the SEC and the B1G dwarfing the other conference in media money, we will have an imbalance. But that imbalance is there for a reason, and you don't make it go away by absorbing schools who can't drive enough additional revenue to justify their cut of the revenue.

- It's a catchy line for the media to talk about everything going to two conferences, yet no one can explain how it makes sense. Gathering 32 schools in two conferences, only to then divide them back into two divisions of 16 teams each makes no sense ... just leave them as they are.

So, no, IMO this isn't what is happening at all. What has happened is that the SEC and the B1G have grabbed all the elite schools they can that can drive revenue. They aren't growing just to grow.

You mean they didn’t grab all those elite schools for their football prowess?

1st and last are Stroud and Hooker. Don't know the middle ones but I would make a bet with you right now that Nix doesn't even get an invite much less win
