Next Nebraska Head Coach

I'm still on the Jamey Chadwell bandwagon.

He's proven he can build something from scratch 3 times.

Nebraska is a build from scratch job, but has a great history, supporting cast, and the cash to get it done compared to his other jobs.

I can get behind Matt Rhule as well though as he's done similar 2 times.

Chadwell: 13 years college HC experience (45 years old)
Rhule: 7 years college HC experience (47 years old)

I will sound like a bratty child, but I won't be completely happy unless it is Urban (which I don't think will happen). I am not excited for Rhule, who I do think is most likely at this point. He has not stayed anywhere long enough to really set up a base. He had some statement about taking the Baylor job because he doesn't like to recruit and most recruits are in the surrounding area there. That is a BIG issue for us. We need a big time recruiter. He's also a Penn St guy that I would bet would bail for them if they ever opened up. Not saying it wouldn't work, but it doesn't make me feel great either.

If I were to rank a top 5, I would probably go....

1. Urban Meyer (10)
2. Jamey Chadwell (8)
3. Lance Leipold (6.5)
4. Matt Rhule (5)
5. Chris Klieman (5)

my own excitement score in parenthesis.

Has Charlie Weis blown thru all his money yet? After all, maybe his "decided schematic advantage" is what you're looking for...

:pop2::martini:

Might as well get a shuttle bus and pick up Gundy, Aranda and Dykes too!
I like the way you think, except you missed one........

Could you imagine all the olds in Memorial Stadium having a hissy fit over Deion?
But he played when the blue hairs were young. Blue hairs would know him a heck of a lot better than the current college kids.

I should specify. Those are my top 5 based on names mentioned. Never really heard anyone mention the UTSA guy

Paul Chryst would be similar and he’s available.
At this point, assuming Urban says no That’s who I’m rooting for NU to get TBH.
Safe bet, knows the division already and would restore some tough guy identity at Nebraska which is needed.
Just look at the guys record alone in the BIG west, a lot to get excited about if your NU IYAM, solid/safe get to try n get NU back into some bowls ect.

I think it's safe to say though that Trev's off of Mickey.

I do hope Mickey stays though. Priscilla said they would honor the 3 yr contract regardless.
